Why did some get there on time and others didn't? Did everyone go on the escorted buses?
It was advised for supporters to get on the buses to avoid problems with the napoli fans, there was nothing stopping us from making our own way there but as we were advised by the club to get on the buses to avoid getting stabbed we thought it was a good idea to follow these instructions.
The only problem is we weren't told about the long route to the ground and missing the start of the match.

Fck how hard is it to understand, the old bill were disgusting I was standing on right if looking at pitch and had piss and bottles thrown at us quite a bit of trouble ensued with local plod and stewards which was deserving

Yeah i know about the warnings etc, so would i be right in assuming that those there in plenty of time got there under their own steam? Just curious as i'd have thought that most would have gone on the buses and i havent heard of any trouble from anyone getting to the ground, which i would have thought would have happened if people made their own way.
I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Fcking Italian mugs , im quite sure its a tactic to help the home team as much as keep safety to away fans. Its not like the Police out haven't done it before, its just that they dont give a flying fook about away fans.
I skipped this trip after reading the experiences of Arsenal fans , and just thought that i aint proping up their fooked economy if im gonna be treated like an Animal out there,especially with the Mrs in tow .
Full respect to the Jacks who went out there most of them knew what they were letting themselves in for ,its like going back to the dark ages over there with running the gauntlet just to watch a game of football.
Well done to the fella who took the time to make a video, UEFA are bent as fook though so i wouldn't be suprised if they decided to fine the Swans for telling the fans to be safe !!

Nice little video you've put together. As far as I'm aware these tactics used by the police are applied for not only European games but domestic ones as well. It's a disgrace that they've been able to get away with this game after a game for numerous seasons now.

Yes - the handful in before the game went under their steam. I spoke to quite a few who went by local train and taxi and arrived with no problem. First buses arrived 5 - 10 minutes after the start I got in with 24 minutes showing on the score board and only just got my bearing as we scored because the stewards were causing all sorts of havoc and being very confrontational. There were several buses coming in after .I arrived
We (me and my bro) took a taxi to the ground and had no problems.
Although, on the Friday night some locals spotted the fact we were Swansea fans just because we were talking English - ended up getting chased around by 5 lads and took a fair kick in...fair to say we were battered and bruised the next day - it was our own fault for walking through a residential area at 2am.
We met a number of locals who said they were "Ultras" and they were all very welcoming; most invited us to drinks; one group even got us behind the bar to drink with about 20 of them.
On first impressions, Naple's is a complete hell-hole, but we enjoyed the trip and would go back.

The police in Naples are to blame and nobody else, the way they handled the situation was shocking.
As for the trouble at the end of the match, it was our own fans who wouldn't stop goading the stewards that were only doing their job and keeping us in the stadium until it was safe for us to leave.
A few innocent swans fans got hurt in the pushing and shoving that followed, my wife being one of them, she got a fist in her face and had a thick lip as a result.
Some people really need to grow up!

I think Andy1300 is spot on, We got to the ground at about 5.30. When we came out of the tube station we expected to see crowds of supporters milling around but there were only those who had got off the same train as us. We passed several bars which were empty ( in fact the two guys who offered to escort us "safely" the 300 yards to the ground even invited us to have an espresso !! We got into the ground expecting to see 900 Swansea fans and a handful of Napoli fans . . . But there were about 50 Swans fans AND if the crowd was 35,000 then there must have been 30,000 fans already INSIDE the stadium !!!!! So, how can the police have been expecting trouble when the vast majority of Napoli fans were already there 70 -80 minutes BEFORE the kick off ????

I'm the bloke on one of the Rome buses that was in text contact with Karnataka. First of all we were met just after the motorway toll station by a single police car and told to pull over and wait until all six coaches were together. We had become split up because some kn*bs had been drinking continually all day and were making the drivers stop every ten minutes so they could get off for a piss.
This delay was about 30 minutes. Then they led us to a marshalling area which had two or three police vans and a large posse of riot police just standing there waiting for us to arrive. There was another 15-20 minutes delay here before the convoy took off surrounded by the police car and vans, blue lights flashing. Of course we now hit the rush hour motorway traffic and spent the next hour going at various speeds from 2 to 25 miles an hour on the most roundabout route they could devise. We kept looking for stadium lights in the distance but they never appeared. We actually passed the port buses on our right, stopped on a slip road trying to enter our motorway! The last 15 minutes was off the motorway through the back streets, with cops standing at every junction with hand held lights waving us through.
When we got there, they waited five minutes before they let us off the buses, and we then discovered that there was a four hundred yard run to the turnstile area in the dark (not half a mile like the video says, unless the port buses stopped further away). This was about 7.10pm. By now, there were some seriously p*ssed off and tanked up jacks running to the entrance, only to be greeted with a line of riot police who funnelled us into a group of stewards for a pat down search. I really thought it was going to kick off at this point because the heated verbal abuse directed at the police was pretty obvious in its meaning, English speakers or not! Luckily I got through the turnstile before anything erupted, only to find there were about six flights of concrete stairs to run up. You can see the rest on the video. We'd missed the first 15 minutes of the game and Napoli's goal, which was scored as we were running up the stairs.
The kept us in for an hour after the match, a line of riot police in full gear blocking off the exits. This again had the potential to turn ugly, fortunately they finally let us out before it did. It took our coach about 5 - 10 minutes to get back on the motorway for Rome, confirming my suspicions that they had taken us all around the houses deliberately before the match to avoid confrontation with Napoli fans by ensuring we arrived well after kick off.
If you are a Porto fan reading this and planning to travel to Naples, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES take any official transport to the ground, make your own way there, and certainly don't take any port buses laid on.

We were on the last bus to arrive at the stopping point from Rome (ontheballtravel) We stopped twice on the way, the first time because a woman at the front was busting for the toilet, there was a toilet on our bus but the door was locked and they wouldn't undo it. Most men on the bus just pissed down the steps. For some reason, 20 or so minutes after the first time, the bus stopped at a services
