Sure Anfield and Walton are shiholes ,like Townhill,Penlan, Blaen y Maes, Landore, but so what... there are plenty of "pretty "areas to live in Swansea area. Its just ,as a rule, football grounds - traditional loved grounds were built in "working class " areas for the benefit of working people. Moreover, I d suggest a visit to Home park doesn't have the aura that have Goodison ,Anfield,Old Trafford, Ewood Park, Deepdale, Villa Park and all the London clubs -all shitholes.
FOOTBALL was formed in the shitholes of Lancashire and the Midlands not Norfolk ,Devon or "middle class" suburban enclaves. Its what makes the sport what it is or was, ie earthy .
Clear irony for rugby haters and many English rugby clubs are based in "prettier" areas.
Sorry Phil but Plymouth after its rebuild post war is/was as characterless a place as they come.

It s going to be a strange trip for them I'm sure as I'm not sure our humour travels well.
