Jenkins and co on 17:15 - May 14 by TheResurrection | Maybe I'm still in the moment, maybe it's just pure relief, maybe it's seeing those poor Hull fans but we all knew the day would come sooner or later when we'd change ownership. Nobody will ever forget the way Jenkins and Co. put themselves before the Club and that will always leave a sour taste in the mouth and taint their legacy, that's all on them. But the Club will always be ours, in our hearts and souls and it's that what Leon Britton has managed to get through to the players and ultimately got us over the line. The Americans have made mistakes, some big ones, but when everyone wrote them off in January they came good and spent the money that kept us up in the end. They deserve a chance. It's up to the Trust now to properly be our eyes and ears and not take their foot off the ball like last time. If it's court action then let's do it, or if they see Levien and Kaplan as worth working with whilst guaranteeing our shareholding then so be that, and I'll back that position and stand by it. This time we do things properly, but it's time to move on if you ask me. |
We are stuck with the owners, the biggest problem is our director of football/head of recruitment

I'm not Jenkins' biggest fan, far from it, but he has to take a lot of credit for Clement, Carroll, Olsson, and Ayew. Simple as that.

Jenkins and co on 18:03 - May 14 by TheResurrection | Cheers mate. I was in full tilt panic mode at the time and genuinely didn't see a way out. I didn't expect us to spend £20m in January, that's for sure, but we spent well, exceptionally well really. Olsson, Carroll and Ayew have been revelations and even Narsingh has played a part. |
We did buy well in January but we need to strengthen CDM , RB (two first choices really and the CDM being a proper Leon type) , AM and if Borja goes another forward

And what about the windows before it? That and poor managerial recruitment put us in the mess.

Leon has shown us what we need in these last 3 games, so has Carroll since January. Borja has to go, it makes no sense him being here and I do think Siggy will go so we'll have a fair few quid for Clement to get stuck into. I'm feeling quite confident in anticipation.

If 'we' don't learn from the harsh lessons of this season, then it will be deja vouz this time next season. Smart, well run businesses learn from their mistakes. Let's hope our American friends can see the obvious changes that need to be made so that PC and his team can build on their achievement.

Add to my original list a back up (good one) CDM (possibly an od experienced head) as well and we may have a half tidy season. Siggurdsson will no doubt be moving on but I'm hopeful we'll keep Llorente. A good RB in the Ollsson mould should see some cracking balls going into the box for him to head home

It will be interesting to see what Clement's favoured formation will be and he'll no doubt be shopping with in mind. I'd like to see some real pace back in the side, proper wide players and a centre forward that fits well into the team behind him. Llorente the last 3 games, yes, been really impressed by him, Llorente on a few too many occasions over the season, no. He's scored some good goals in fairness to him and has a habit of being in the right place at the right time. Bony has been the most successful front man for us imo, so a player like him would be ideal. Personally I'd take a punt on him again if the price is right.... and it should be after the last couple of seasons. Big worry is his real age though!

You'd have to say that we look fairly solid now defensively. Wouldn't bet against any one of VdH, Amat or Bartley (if he returns) stepping in to do a job as and when required. As well as Fernandez has done lately he still bothers me when he's on the ball but that's a minor quibble. At fullback, Olsson and Kingsley are fine on the left. Maybe have a good look at Conor Roberts in pre-season to see if he's ready to compete with Naughton in place of Rangel. If not then we'll need someone there. Midfield I wouldn't really be looking at at all unless there was a significant upgrade available for a reasonable price, or we needed to replace someone. Upfront and out wide is where the big decisions and most work will need to be done. We're going to need at least one striker no matter what approach Clement decides to take, probably two. Out wide Ayew aside I wouldn't lose sleep if we replaced every other winger we have, although it's unlikely that we'd ship them all on, Narsingh especially.

And also take credit for N'gog, Schecter, Vasquez, Nouble, McCreachan and quite a few others. Also Bradley Also sacking Guido as he did And selling the club behind the Trusts back And not getting shot of Dimwit when he turned out to have the same commercial nous as Ratner describing his jewellry business This is going to be a long list
| If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious. |

Jenkins and co on 18:19 - May 14 by perplex | If Jenkins makes things awkward next season I`m sure Clement will come out and tell everyone Clement is ambitious and will want to within reason bring in who he thinks will improve us, if Jenkins and co do not tow the line just name and shame them. |
I bet he fcking doesn't. We have put over one and a half million quid in his pocket.
