ki played as an attacking midfielder for sunderland and celtic and lets be fair half the time siggy played wide in a 4 3 3 .
Not sure if you have ever played football or really understand tactics but I'm glad to help you ot .
We won' be playing 4 4 1 1 so ki won't be a 10 in the European player maker style.

why playa diamond when we are perfect for a 4 3 3
we have our back 4 (agreed ?)
we have plenty in midfield for the 3 be it carroll mesa fer britton or ki
we have 2 of the 3 up top llorente and ayew so we now we fix the other part of the front 3
Roberts at man city? chadli west brom? mirallas at everton?
if we change tactis I say 4 4 2 same back 4, 2 of those central lads then 2 of the wide boys ayew plus new signing and then tammy to join llorente up top??

this debate is all down to what Tactics PC wants to play. He played the diamond a lot last season and it was successfull.
I don't think Ki is good enough or Fer tbh, so would like 1 more in to play with Mesa and Caroll if we went 3.
Back 4 i think needs better cover at CH and a new RB. Upfront we need a replacement for Llorente when he goes, i agree wide men need looking at but they won't be untill we get 1 or 2 off the books.
Ayew showed last season he isn't upto playing the lone role or a wide man role, so the diamond suits him the best.

4-3-3 is the way forward? Like we were playing 4 or 5 years ago you mean?
Wouldnt disagree with the formation, but dont think our wingers have enough pace to play that well effectively at this level. Historically we relied on combinations i.e. Dyer/Rangel and Davies/Taylor/Routledge/Sinclair
The no.10 role plays a huge, huge part in that system. Neither Fer nor Ki will be effective enough, and we will have to pay big backs for a quality replacement.
Under the Oirishman we were pretty ineffective going forward until he fluked putting Dobbie in that role and we changed overnight. |  |
