Angel Rangel Incoming ? 13:38 - Aug 12 with 13930 views | Hooped_Pullie | Apologies if covered elsewhere, but the out-of-contact Swansea 'legend' will apparently be joining us soon, according to the Currant Bun. 35, came up from League 1 with Swansea, clearly no intention of retiring just yet. Maybe a desperate move on our part, or possibly he goes the Steve Palmer route and gives us some great value in the autumn of his career. We'll see...if it happens. May be paper talk, but you'll be hard pressed to find a more experienced midfielder who's played at so many levels and is available for zero transfer fee.

If Kakay can't get a game as understudy to our preferred RB, even when he's shown himself to be more than proficient, what's the point? We have to make do for 2-3 months and this expereince will make Kakay a much better player for us, the same way it did for Furlong in the Premiership. Put the loan fees and wages into the places that really need it. |
Hand-wringing not necessary, just because we're signing some short term cover doesn't mean we're dumping Kakay forever.

I was taught that you never quit a job before you have another one. He’s going to look pretty Chinedum alright if he ends up unemployed!

This times x 1,000. A leggy 35 year old is just as much a liability than a in inexperienced 20 year old. Hey Steven, leave those kids alone. [Post edited 13 Aug 2018 20:23]

don't think we'll need any loan fees for a free agent but apart from that, point taken. however, if Kakay gets injured, then who plays right back? Cousins? he has an injury list as long as my arm. short-term it isn't the worst signing we could make if he can cover other positions in the defence too. we're not exactly looking sh*t hot CB-wise right now.

Baptiste plays RB if Kakay can't. Now that's really not the person you want playing regualrly, especially at full back, but that's the kind of standard you expect from a 3rd choice player for lower Champioship club. There's no hand wringing either, I would just prefer to stick to the youth back up options than re-visit the days of Aaron Hughes.
