The Russian economy collapsed after the cold war, but not because of Regean and the arms race or rubbish like that, but because of a lack of outside investment into their oil and gas industries, however that has been resolved and they are even technologically more advanced than many countries , just look at the drilling platforms they have erected in the Arctic- far in advance of anything we have.
As for the US printing more dollars, it has devalued the dollar considerably, so quantitative easing is not the answer.
Do you have any links to back-up your claim that Russia is more technically advanced than many Countries in the oil and gas industry.
Its news to me.

If America controls the Persian gulf and the straights or hormuz, it controls the supply of oil and therefore controls the price.High oil prices are good for the US, as much of the oil is bought in dollars, so they gain by selling dollars. It could backfire, because it would further Push Russia, China, Venezuela to further circumvent the petrodollar.
It's uncertain how Putin would react as they have agreements with Iran. It's a risky venture by the US as Iran won't roll over like Iraq did as they have the backing of Putin and possibly China.
The USA is now the Worlds largest producer of oil thanks to fracking they no longer need any of the Gulfs oil.
Venezuela is basically a basket case ever since the marxist took over. They confiscated the assets of the Venezuelan oil company and with no maintenance or investment in their oil fields production has dropped every year since. They also gave everyone a minimum living wage if they worked or not. The farm labours got more money not working than working. Farm production crashed and Venezuela has to import most of it's food. Venezuela cannot afford too import either food or basic medicine since it's oil production crashed. Welcome to the Socialist/Marxist paradise so beloved by comrades Corbyn and MacDonnell.

Don't you think it could be because of the US sanctions and the freezing of their govt bank accounts.

Venezuela was a basket case about 5 years before 2018 when the USA the imposed sanctions after they defaulted on international debts.
That is why over 3 million people have left the country just to find food to eat.
The only people to wreck the richest country were their socialist leaders.

With a bit of luck these, piss gibbons in government may decide to frack on your doorstep. Enjoy your poisoned water supply, earth tremors and polluted land. It will all be worth it as cheap oil and gas see butt.

Not sure where you get this nonsense from. President Nicolas Maduro has dismissed the possibility of a default, adding that Venezuela would instead work on refinancing and restructuring its foreign debt

I wouldn’t be surprised if the CIA sponsored the hit. Why not , they armed Bin Laden’s Mujihadeen, gave covert support to the rebel jihadists in Syria , faked the gulf of Tonkin incident. And more. As with Syria the West is dying to get to war with Iran.
"And more" yes indeed. Going right back to the USS Maine in Cuba in 1898 and Operation Northwoods in the 60s.
Take a look at this interview with retired General Wesley Clark. The US drawing Iran into a military conflict by whatever means seems inevitable.
Part of the key with Iran is not technically oil but gas. The discovery of the South Pars gasfield, the largest reserves of natural gas ever discovered, is behind much of the recent skulduggery. Syria is central to the plan to bring the gas to the European market hence the "necessity" to bring that country to its knees while blaming everyone but the actual culprits. These two links are informative.
There has to be some incident, usually involving the death of innocent Americans, before the US public will support aggressive action against another country or organisation, real or otherwise. Here's the mother of them all (Pearl Harbor not withstanding) and for those who can't be bothered to follow the link, the District Attorney for the Southern District of New York has accepted a 52 page petition from a lawyers committee to convene a Grand Jury to examine the evidence in the petition. The petition contains an enormous weight of evidence that all of the WTC buildings were destroyed by controlled demolition. As a Grand Jury operates behind closed doors, I am skeptical that we will ever see the true outcome of this. The changes that have taken place in the world and particularly the US as a result of 9/11 are undeniable. If the citizens of the US ever have the proof that this was all perpetrated by elements within the US government, there would likely be an outpouring of disillusioned people determined to exercise their second amendment rights. The powers that be will not let that happen. Here is a link to the acceptance of that petition.
If you have the time to read the petition itself, the evidence looks pretty overwhelming and hopefully the jury members will look at this without star spangled spectacles.
This is huge news. Has anybody seen anything in the press or on the TV about it ? Nah, it doesn't fit with the program of feeding us what we "need to know." Kind of like the $21 trillion (yes trillion, not billion) unaccountable in the Pentagon budget after a recent audit.

I'll take what Trump said on face value. Well done him for putting a stop to yesterdays planned assault when learning up to 150 might die.
He's still a pri(k though.
I agree. Unfortunately the cynic in me thinks that it’s a classic case of hard cop vs soft cop with a sub-plot of depicting the US as a global power that cares about collateral damage.

I remember watching those attacks as if it were yesterday. I firmly believed the narrative and that Bin Laden had organised 19 hijackers to meticulously carry out the most audacious terrorist event the world had ever seen .
Ever since the alleged "passport hijacker" turned up alive (along with a few others) , the complete failure of NORAD to intercept a single jet, the lack of any plane debris at Shanksville and the Pentagon and the inadvertent admission of th WTC complex owner Larry Silverstein that he "pulled" building 7 (meaning demolished) on TV made me question the whole narrative's voracity. And there's a lot more I could mention.
The 911 commission was a complete whitewash and the families of the victims who died so unbelievably horribly that day truly deserve justice. Trump seems to be driving a bit of this surprisingly. Let's bring the culprits to justice.

There are so many fallacies and inconsistencies in the official narrative that I am amazed that anyone still believes any of it. There are many first hand witnesses that heard and/or were injured by explosions in the basements of the Twin Towers before any plane had struck them. This is backed up by data from local seismic monitoring stations.
Anyone that still believes that you could crash a 200 ton aluminium plane carrying a few thousand gallons of aviation fuel into a half million ton steel and concrete building, even at a few hundred miles per hour, and cause it to collapse with almost perfect symmetry at near freefall acceleration, really does not have much of a grasp of physics.
There are many first responders (many of whom are now suffering respiratory illnesses) who reported seeing molten steel in the debris. That would require temperatures of over 1000 degrees Celsius MORE than would be possible by igniting the contents of an office building with aviation fuel.
Larry Silverstien bought the entire WTC complex for a relative pittance from the Port Authority of New York who were desperate to offload it as much of the buildings was fireproofed using asbestos. It was going to cost close to $1 billion to bring the buildings up to code. Silverstien amended the insurance policy for the WTC to include acts of terrorism earlier in 2001. He successfully claimed that, as two planes struck the buildings, it was two separate attacks and was awarded a double payout totalling $4.5 billion. Not bad for his original investment of $750 million on which he had only made a small downpayment. What a scummy man.
As for the Pentagon, over thirty surveillance cameras were pointed at the side of the building that was hit, yet no footage of anything actually striking it has ever been released. Strange that whatever did strike the building hit the budget analysts offices where on September 10th Donald Rumsfeld had announced that $2.3 trillion was missing from the Pentagon budget (if you read my previous post, we know that this figure is now $21 trillion.) Nobody seemed to ever mention this again after what happened the following day. Handy, to say the least.
These are just a few of the many dots which can only be joined up one way that I can see. It killed so many birds with one stone for the Neocons and their cronies, not to mention 3000 innocent people and millions more due to the phoney "War on Terror" that was perpetrated as a result of this hideous charade. Apologies if I seem to be belabouring the point but, along with Berlin wall coming down, 9/11 was the most world changing event that has happened in my lifetime. I could go on for thousands more words on the subject but here James Corbett puts it succinctly in under five minutes.

Did you hear about the government bearer bonds that were due to mature the following day? The speculation regarding United and American Airlines stock - so suspicious it virtually screamed foreknowledge and insider trading? The massive spike in dubious stock movements in the lead up and during the attack?
