The Guardian and others were misleading in their headlines when they talked of mistakes made in the 2008 crash modelling (under Mervyn King, a prominent brexiteer btw) and the brexit modelling. Please read the actual transcript.

Actually I was just quoting from my previous post as you did not seem to pick those issues up. If you want the state school bit cut out, ask Sir Keir to stop keep repeating it. Even though he travelled 10 miles to attended a partially autonomous school. Which (based on his age) after his second year became fully private, giving him all the advantages of a private education. But presumably still funded by the state.
I find it interesting that he stresses the strong socialist nature of his family. Yet they chose to send their child to a semi autonomous Grammar school, soon to become independent. When socialist policy was depriving the majority of ordinary children the opportunity of even a state Grammar school education.

It s not the chlorine that is the issue it the fact the chicken needs to be washed in it due to the "poor" standards adopted in its production to make it so cheap!
As has been mentioned EU and UK produced salads are chlorine rinsed and yes it is in our tap water but US chiken is washed to ensure it bactria free as they way they are farmed there unlike in the EU increas the risk of being contaminated

The results have proven that people will vote for liars and directly against their own best interests.
Again, nothing to do with Brexit , the country had a choice and voted in a conservative government that protects big business at the expense of the vast majority of the electorates’ best interests , including health and well being.
A labour government would protect food standards , employment rights and protect the NHS. They would have at least tried to insulate the worst off in our society by shielding them from the horrific tax rises they’re going to experience as a result of Covid 19.
The conservatives are going to make sure the tax burden is recouped from the lowest earners once again. They are going to bring chlorinated sub standard food over here because some of their friends are going to make an awful lot of money out of it. They’re also going to erode workers rights (not that there are that many left). Ditto the creeping privatization of the health service (something they have an ideological hatred for) and anything else of ours they can sell off and make money on.
The people got what they wanted. They’ll just have to accept they made a massive mistake. |  |

However the Guardian headline was accurate. I don’t have to read the transcript because I actually listened to the interview with the Chief Economist of the Bank of England and referenced it here.
They quite clearly covered the massive failings in the Governor’s immediate post Brexit predictions, as I recall it was likened to a gale warning that turned out to be a slight breeze. I would say given the dire predictions and the authority of the source, that even that breeze, was generated by the affect of Carneys bleak predictions.
Perhaps we could revert to the old he hadn’t got to Q in the idiots guide when he made the predictions, so forgot about quantative easing ;)
