The 6 match iFollow pass 14:22 - Sep 19 with 3551 views | MAK | First time post so please be gentle. As one of those ST holders from last season who took the 6 match iFollow pass as refund I can't help but think, as a ST holder again this season, the club has made a bit of a mistake. From a selfish perspective my original thinking was that the pass would be handy for a few of those wet and cold Tuesday nights where you didn't fancy leaving the house. However, from the iFollow FAQs its seems that the pass only covers the first six home matches. I can't remember this being mentioned when refund decisions had to be made and I, along with probably more than a few others, expected to be given 6 codes to be used at anytime throughout the season. The point is that if I'd known the arrangement was for the first 6 matches only, I'd have happily donated the refund back to the club instead. If there are many more folk like me then how much more could the club have got back. What is the point of the 6 match pass to current ST holders? If we can't get into the ground due to covid the match is covered on iFollow by the ST. If the ground does open up for fans then most will be there and not using the refunded pass.
The 6 match iFollow pass on 14:30 - Sep 19 with 3528 views | 442Dale | Being fair to the club, they had no idea at the time what would happen with the new season and made the offer as an option. This whole situation will always see some of us missing out on something, it’s almost unavoidable. Suppose it’s trying to look at how to appreciate it from various perspectives and being accepting that football clubs, like everyone else, are trying to do their best. Of course if they make a major error that really negatively impacts the club and supporters, it needs to be addressed.

The 6 match iFollow pass on 14:40 - Sep 19 with 3508 views | Nigeriamark | I'm not even sure how the club were even able to offer 6 video matches in the first place. I follow live streaming is originally meant to be for fans living overseas, with only audio available in the UK. There have been some exceptions in the last few years for a few games. This is to stop fans watching I-Follow instead of attending matches Obviously allowing September games to be streamed to UK residents make sense but at the moment fans are meant to be back 1st weekend in October, so Dale would have permission for 1 game. With the rise in COVID cases especially in the North WestI doubt we will be playing the Fleetwood game at home, but it is strange that the EFL have allowed the first 6 to be offered which would take us into November So in terms of your original point, once things are back to normal the EFL they are not going to want to fans to watch I-follow but to get back in stadia. As a result I doubt it is the clubs decision to front load the usage, but will be a requirement of I-follow/EFL. The only request I can see the club being involved with is the number, and I don't know why they decided on 6, although now there is every chance it will be more than the Portsmouth home game being behind closed doors. I'm expecting the government to make decisions any time now

Wasn’t it six games as that’s how many home games we had left?

Good point, that's probably it from the clubs perspective. However I'm still not sure why the EFL/I-follow have allowed it or where they announced they have given permission for UK fans to purchase games after the ban on fans is lifted. Doesn't mean they haven't, I may have missed it even though I am an overseas subscriber

I'd agree that we'd all rather be in the ground than watching on a screen but we do have the option from iFollow to watch Tuesday night matches for £10. This I'd assumed was one way of using the pass. Looking at the options originally given there is no mention of the 1st 6 matches only being covered. In fact it reads rather differently on option 2 below. From the Dale website:- 1)Have your name listed on a “Dale Wall Of Thanks” by forgoing the refund and “donating” that money to Club. We recognise that times are difficult for many of our supporters and any money that can be put into the Club would be an incredible gesture. We intend to thank those fans who choose this option by forever listing their name on our “Dale Wall Of Thanks” in a prominent position in the Crown Oil Arena; 2)Choose to receive six iFollow match passes for Dale games next season; 3)A cash refund equal to that of the six matches that Season Ticket holders were unable to attend; 4)Allow your tickets to be included in the “Community Fund” scheme where they will be donated to local key workers. My point is that I'm concerned that the club has missed out on substantial refunds donated back as fans have opted for an iFollow option that is far less attractive than was originally marketed.

Let's just hope that the club only needs to pay for free codes that are are used as opposed to codes issued. Or maybe they don't pay at all as part of the EFL deal.
The 6 match iFollow pass on 21:04 - Sep 19 with 3228 views | ChaffRAFC | Good posts MAK. My partner and her Dad also went with the iFollow option on the refunds and we all expected them to be for any games, not the same games we got with our current season tickets, thus making them absolutely pointless. Nothing specified, though am sure they couldn't at the time, that they would be for the first games of the season like the new season cards offered and wouldn't be able to include away games. Disappointing really and a waste of an option.

Agreed that at the time they probably didn't know the breakdown of the matches available, but the option as you say is virtually pointless to a new ST holder. If I had a receipt for the pass I'd happily return it and donate the money to the club. Plus it is likely there's many more of us in the same boat🤦

There is still time for the club to be upfront and let you and many others ask to opt out of the scheme if it is costing the club money. Or tell us that the codes aren't chargeable unless they are used - in which case it doesn't matter
The 6 match iFollow pass on 16:05 - Oct 1 with 2778 views | MAK | Just a quick addition to this thread. Over the past couple of days I've received my two iFollow codes for the Fleetwood match, one for the 6 match pass and the other for this season's SC. Obviously I can only use one of these codes leaving one code not used. Clearly this other code is valid and I'd rather see it be used by someone wanting to watch the match than it sit in my inbox going to waste especially at a time when many folk have limited resources. I can see the counter argument that this potentially takes a £10 payment away from the club but as this is an issue brought about by the club I'm not sure I see a problem. Considering the many fans in a similar situation with whats likely to be a further four codes going spare in the next few weeks the total number of unused codes could run into hundreds. Anybody see any problem with those of us with surplus codes donating them to those that would be grateful for them? I've had a quick scan through the iFollow FAQs and can't see any reason why it couldn't be done as codes don't appear to be tied to individual ticket accounts.

I think that would be nice. Just a tip - make sure that you have registered your SC awarded code before you give away your additional free code. If they have issued a code wrongly you may need the second one as a back up. There is nobody around to help you on a matchday of the club has made a mistake

Yes agreed - this would be handy. I presumed they did still get charged. I emailed the RAFC office back when I got the first code and said they may as well donate my money as I already have multiple codes to watch games anyway, as everyone household with more than one season ticket holder will. They acknowledged my email, apologised and thanked me for my donation, but have sent me the code again anyway. I offered the last one to someone I know (actually a Bury fan that has come down to Spotland in the past), but I don't really want to do that if it costs the club money. But if the code is already paid for then anyone who wouldn't otherwise buy the game may as well use it. With regards to the OP, personally I'd expected the passes to be available for games like the Checkatrade etc and to have been of use to me. I would have otherwise donated the money so not actually a loss to me monetarily, but nonetheless it's still a bit disappointing I'm buying all non-league games but receiving multiple codes for home league games and the six emails I get (two down) will be a bit annoying!

Very important points. Have you or anyone else for that matter had any more news from the club on this? At a time when every penny counts, surely the club should be all over this like a rash and provide some clarity to those buying / receiving / gifting codes.

The 6 match iFollow pass on 13:43 - Oct 2 with 2425 views | D_Alien | What's the protocol if the expected deluge overcomes even our best efforts to get the game on - or its abandoned during play? Does the iFollow code get automatically transferred to when the fixture if rearranged, or can refunds be applied? This would be useful to know for future reference during the harsher months of the season
