But if he hadn't scored that goal. Perhaps the subsequent game against Accrington would've gone differently. Had we still lost against Accy having not won any of our 1st six league games the board would have rolled the dice regarding the management team.

Why would the defeat at Accrington have "gone differently" as a consequence of Tavares' goal v Fleetwood? Sorry, struggling with that one.

Also struggling with if we hadn't one 1 (ONE) home win all season, it would have changed the perception of the board (or whoever of them deals with these things).

After losing at Accy we had 6 home defeats from that point leading up to Xmas 2020 when the (don't mention it) managerial contract extension (shhh) was given (don't tell anybody) and apart from a couple of outstanding away wins, some of the most inept , predictable and dire football we'd seen for a long time with consequent effect on our league position.

The dice weren't rolled differently at all based on evidence, unfortunately.

What I'm trying to say is had the various games mentioned gone in our favour, or not there is no guarantee the rest of the results would have been the same. A challenge that prevented a move that led to a winning or equalising goal might have led to a second yellow or straight red and the subsequent bans. An alternative result might have seen another player picking up an injury and being out for extended length of time.

Excellent performance this evening. Tight at the back, hardworking in midfield and a willingness to do simple things lie chasing and covering. To be honest I don't think we can avoid the drop but going back into L2 with most of this team wouldn't be the end of the world, Having said that, there will need to be careful recruitment, might McShane be up for another season? Could Osho be back next year? I think Lynch has probably booked himself another contract and maybe McLaughlin too now that he seems to be getting through games without needing a 3 game rest between every 90 minutes on the pitch.
Overall, you have to wonder if playing Bazunu for a dozen games too many with all the tippy tappy that seemed to entail has cost us a L1 place?

"Could Osho be back next year?"

Probably only in our dreams?

His exploits are not flying under any radars and sadly, he'll probably be priced accordingly (pricing us out) if he does make a move.
