I saw Triumph on the only UK tour they ever did, very good for a three piece.
Cheesey lyrics on this one but great riff..............

Good stuff that. They always look impressive live based on the Youtube videos I have seen. Shame I missed them, I got into them too late. Listening to that, it struck me that they are similar to Grand Funk in some ways.

This is usually classified as "post-metal" but it is very heavy in places, so see what you think:

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

V Good.

Reminded me of Tides a bit:

A great early effort from one of my favourite bands.

I was watching the documentary The Story of Anvil yesterday - a great watch, by the way - and Lips from Anvil mentioned a band called Cactus. I had never heard of them and it turns out that:
- They have just released a new album
- It's quite catchy, tuneful hard rock
- Well known drummer Carmine Appice is in the band.
Here they are:

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Anyone mentioned Electric Wizard yet? Saw them a few years back with Metallica Hoop, an amazing doom metal band one the best gigs I've been to easily and not just because Liz Buckingham is so pleasing on the eye

Listened to this album again over the weekend - forgot just how good it was. Saw them at Hammersmith when they toured it. Great show.

Need some more blues here:

Remedy is such a good track!

Seeing as we are going back that far, I was thinking of a few songs around the late 80s early 90s

I toured around Australia in the early 90s and use to watch Rage a lot. One night they had a "Stairway to Heaven" night where they just played Stairway to Heaven covers. I couldn't believe how many bands had recorded covers of that song!

A couple of Aussie bands from that time:-
