Manslaughter …. ?

The offence of involuntary manslaughter can be divided into four categories:

*Unlawful act manslaughter — an intentional unlawful act which must be objectively dangerous and lead to death
*Gross negligence manslaughter — a duty of care towards the victim is breached as a result of gross negligence by the defendant, leading to the death of the victim
*Subjectively reckless manslaughter — a subjectively reckless act which leads to death
*Corporate manslaughter — a gross breach of the duty of care by a company or organisation that leads to a death

Guilty as charged. Number 2 above.

You do realise that the elderly also died in Welsh care homes and yet despite external pressure from the families of victims and opposition politicians to hold its own public inquiry into the pandemic the WAG has so far refused to bow to that pressure. And in fact Wales was two weeks behind England in implementing mandatory testing before discharging from hospital back to the care homes,. Would you care to comment ?

And his favourite Scottish politician is also accused of hiding the facts amongst other things the SNP are trying to hide,

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/other/scottish-independence-legal-advice-on-secon

Though I should put that in a thread of it's own!

Anyway, yet again it's a case of ignoring what the Senedd does even if its the same as Westminster because obviously, anything in England is to blame.

On that point, our Welsh health secretary has been banned form driving for 6 months, I didn't realise she had a seat in the House of Lords, Labour Senedd members have their snouts firmly in the same troughs as the Tories.

There should be an immediate UK Inquiry and Wales should be part of that.

Wales is part of the UK inquiry but Drakeford rules out a Wales only inquiry, why do you think that was? What is he hiding?

He knows Johnson will game it if its done seperately.

An immediate uk inquiry suits everyone right ? - except ‘kick it down the road’ Johnson …

WAG has the powers, due to devolution of the health service, to carry out its own enquiry, why wouldn't you support that notion. I thought you'd shouting from the roof tops that it would show the world and his dog that Wales can deal with its own issues without having to fall back to the Mother of Parliament or is it you don't believe they're capable

I'm actually not in favour of a separate Welsh inquiry. It would be an unnecessary expense, would undoubtedly be whitewashed/ignored by the WG and, if we're being honest, ignored by most voters too.

A full, Westminster led UK inquiry that looks into all facets of the pandemic in the UK including the performance of the devolved Governments would be fine. Somewhere the historical record needs to contain the abject lunacy of some of the stuff Grampy Wales and crew have done over the last two years.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Then so did Drakeford and Sturgeon as well the Welsh and Scottish NHS both discharged people from Hospital to care homes.

Think all sensible adults realised nobody knew anything at the start of the pandemic. They could have of course left then all in hospital to infect all patients in the hospital as well as doctors and nurses resulting in the complete collapse of our health serves and 100,000s more deaths.

Off course with the benefit of hindsight and mystic Meg Drakeford could have developed a vaccine before the pandemic, could have ordered a full lockdown and ordered tons of PPE as well as tests to detect covoid

Yes it was, I read this today,

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-61227709

and there's this extract from it,

"A spokesman for Mr Hancock said the case "comprehensively clears ministers of any wrongdoing and finds Mr Hancock acted reasonably on all counts"

What a crass and plainly wrong thing to say. The report says the Government acted unlawfully which means ministers acted unlawfully, far from clearing Hancock, it indicts him, in my opinion.

We are at a point where there is a massive case for a general election because there seems to be a huge groundswell of public opinion that Bojo should resign and that the tories are not fit to govern. This story, the story about porn being watched in Parliament, all the drunken sots sleeping on the benches, all the bluster and excuses in the world are not good enough.

The next General Election is due in couple of years. Only a very few left wing extremist want one now with the War I Ukraine far more important than pandering to left wing wishes.

it's not pandering to any left wing wishes, let alone any extremist views. This government is not fit for purpose. The war in Ukraine can still be dealt with but the UK itself is not at war. We could and would carry on supporting Ukraine during an election. In fact an election now would be an opportunity to see what Starmers policies would be re Russia and the invasion of a sovereign state.

What do you think we should do if the war is still going on in 2 years? Should we delay the election?

Don't forget felix, I am not a Labour voter. If this was a world war like 39-45 then I'd agree we shouldn't go to the polls but its not like that. The tories are making gaffe after gaffe, decisions that have killed tens of thousands, they break laws at will and lie to us about it. The problem in Westminster isn't just the tories, there are problems with labour too. The people deserve the chance to let them know what we think, to vote out the liars, cheats and law breakers.

That's not strictly true. Covid patients are only infectious for a certain time. The test at the time was not accurate and could often show positive after weeks. The test had no value and therefore was not used when patients were being discharged

It's a distraction from the real cause. Temporary care workers and those on zero contract hours were moving from home to home to work and were taking the virus into the homes. There was also a lack of available PPE and some homes just didn't realise what was happening.

There was also the case of bed blocking. Beds were needed for more seriously ill patients and there was nowhere else for the discharged patients to go

Every Government has a natural shelf life and the current one hit theirs about three years ago. Problem is that the alternative at the time was horrifying, so they got back in quite easily.

Starmer isn't up to much but would probably at least appear more professional, although the quality of the shadow cabinet is, if anything, perhaps even worse than the actual one.

The only way I vote now is to do some decent research on each candidate and try to identify the least worst option regardless of the political party they represent.
