She was very fortunate to navigate past 184 rank Linda Noskova in the first round, who was a set and a break up before choking completely… she today gets obliterated by Aliaksandra Sasnovich in round 2 who is only just in the top 50.
Losing 6-1 6-1 after winning the first 6-3. Wasn’t even a contest after Sasnovich settled.
She was also knocked out of the first round of Rome in the last tournament.

Golubic is the draw for Nottingham round 1. World number 55 from Switzerland.
She has a game suited to grass with her low knife slices and is crisp at the net, but Emma back in front of a much needed home crowd and needing to find form, which she also did on grass last year.
Raducanu is $1.50 (1/2) favourite but I wouldn’t be backing her at that price, still too short. Wouldn’t overly shock me to see her crash out early yet again.
Coin flip match in my opinion, if Raducanu goes though I reckon it will be in a very tight affair. I’d be backing Golubic +5.5 and +4.5 games and taking advantage of the inflated price. | |

She couldn’t have been mate. 1.44 and 1.50 was her price when they went up, I backed Golubic early as thought Emma may drift as some smart money came in. But it held pretty firm to be fair.
This is a firm in Australia that uses Paddy’s prices, they are a subsidiary of Paddy and Betfair under the Flutter holding company.
I was trying to get $500 chunks down on Golubic all day hoping they would let one slip through by mistake. Usually they only let me on to win between $10-$100 or something - they know who I am so my account is heavily restricted. But they kept reducing my stake to zero.
Managed to sneak a few things by where my stake was reduced to a few sheckles by the system. But it’s better than a punch in the arm.

However again I see this as too short and a reaction to beating “a name”. Watson loves a home crowd, has beaten her on grass before and had a good win in the last round against Volynets a young American that I rate highly for the future.
Golubic probably correctly instilled as favourite, but only just in my opinion - so I’ll be backing the outsider again here and trying to sneak on what I can. Watsons price is too good to turn down and will be far closer than it suggests.
I’ll be going the +4.5 and +5.5 games again plus the outright win. | |

She was yes, which is why the chances of such a low bar being set in any future Grand Slams is extremely unlikely. If it does happen again, she then has to take advantage again - which is also extremely unlikely.
