None. But if they'd have given him a lethal injection, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Wonderful. I've got Gary Glitter on my doorstep... on 16:35 - Feb 5 with 2703 views | mushinexile | Almost certainly. What a perverted sentiment to think that it is a good thing to murder sex criminals. The laws of decent people v 50,000 years of biology. Yeah, right. That is why it was written that continentals have sex lives. The English have hot water bottles.

You seem to have a strange affection for kiddie fiddlers. Gary Glitter was found guilty of performing sex acts with 10 and 11 year old girls. Have a think about that. Very bizarre.

I hold no love for sex offenders but despise those who think it is right to advocate murder, especially in my name for they are by far the worst perverts of all. 1885 SFC, I mean you, personally.

I couldn't give a sh1t what you think. Any sicko interfering with a 10 or 11 year old daughter of mine deserves a lethal injection. It's not murder. It's putting the sick fcuk out of their misery.

Wonderful. I've got Gary Glitter on my doorstep... on 18:40 - Feb 5 with 2479 views | saint901 | Prison is meant to rehab people so that when they're released, they don't revert to the behaviour that put them there. That might be anything from speeding to murder. In theory, once rehab'd, those of us who choose to obey the laws of society should be treated like any other citizen. In practice, many of us think that prison does not rehab prisoners and have no faith that those released can serve a function in society. Further, some crimes carry a higher moral burden because they are inimical to civilised people. Pedophilia is one of them. Many of us have children and the thought that there are predators out there seeking to harm them, brings into play all sorts of evolutionary protection mechanisms. Thinking that a pedophile can be "cured" or controlled or prevented from exercising what is a compulsion, even after a lengthy prison stay, is simply unbelievable for many - most - of us who cannot even contemplate that mind set. So do I think people such as this person can be cured or stopped from offending? No. Would I want them living near me (I live next to a primary school)? No. Where do I think he should be? In a facility where he is required to be under surveillance. Is that fair on him? Frankly no and I don't care. By his own actions he has chosen to put himself outside accepted norms and must therefore accept living outside those norms. Would I advocate killing him? No. That is a slippery slope that I cannot accept.

Prison continues to be, generally speaking a wasted opportunity IMHO. Putting a whole bunch of criminals together and expecting them to change is non sensical. I would agree that making paedophilia a capital offence is a step too far although I understand the emotion behind that. What I find really hard to understand is the increasingly relaxed attitude towards this heinous crime as in recently police Scotland referring to a paedophile as a "Minor attracted person". https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/01/03/minor-attracted-people-is-an-attempt-to God help us if we start accepting or normalising this perverted behaviour.
| I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it. |

Wonderful. I've got Gary Glitter on my doorstep... on 12:29 - Feb 6 with 1965 views | saint901 | Agreed about more living near us than we think. I know somebody who recently retired from the police and her job was to keep track of known offenders and those released from prison. She was of the view that if they knew where they were and what they were doing, then finding them if there was an offence was easier than looking for a needle in a haystack. Makes practical sense (and comfort that the police track these people) but still an uncomfortable truth.

Prior to all the kiddie fiddling coming to light, he dossed on my mate's couch for three months. That's what I call hospitality ! [Post edited 14 Feb 2023 21:18]

It’s the kids he’s interested in. Paedos are basically untreatable according to all the child social care workers I have known {more than one}
