I think he will be used like Sinclair on the wing, rather then down the centre, but he gives us additional attacking options, which can't be a bad thing.

In Big Jim we trust although some people might need a little persuading about this one. I doubt if the Squadbuilder fund would have been overflowing for this lad. However look at the turnaround in opinions about Cameron John so it can be done. Give the lad a chance. It’s a totally different environment to last season and a lower level of football.

I liked him more than Sinclair last year and the actions of the club , including BJ, suggested the club had similar views. Sinclair went out on loan and Mellor played every game under Jim. John and Sinclair are two that have flourished at this lower level and I have little doubt Mellor will have enough about him to trouble defences at this level. Opinions make football.

I think it was EBJ who shipped Sinclair out on loan to Altrincham late in last year’s transfer window. How much input BJ had in that decision I’m not sure.

Assuming he is on a 2 year contract at Wycombe, he will be looking for a new club in the Summer, my bet is that he also wants to move back nearer to his Manchester home. According to Wiki he is 23 so probably a contemporary of Max Taylor at Man United. He will get game time so lets see if his confidence starts to grow and maybe he can start to show why United had so much faith in him to keep him for 10 years from being 8 years old.....
Agreed with the consensus; but I trust Jim fully and he wouldn't bring back any bad blood.
Give him a second chance. As with the previous post, John and Sinclair didn't look ready for League 2 but look comfortable with this level, hopefully D'Mani will too.

He is also going to be playing in a much better atmosphere on and off the pitch in that the team are doing the best they can in the circumstances and the fans are behind them. That has got to give him a better chance of doing well compared to what it was like when he was here before.

I was surprised to hear that Dale had signed mellor on loan again..... This is a totally different enviroment for him and i think if he shows that ability of taking his man on and creating chances and putting them away aswell he will do well..
This is ideal for him to take the chance.........

In simple terms, the lad's career in football is on the line here. He's had multiple chances to create an impression and start to fulfil his potential and at 23, those chances will diminish
Couldn't wish for a better environment and mentors in BJ & Hendo

Indeed.
If he doesn't show he can cut it at our level, the opportunity of playing League football again look to be disappearing right before his eyes (unless he finds his way into a Vanarama promotion squad - which may yet prove to come to fruition @ RAFC in my wildest dreams)!
Maybe that's what BJ said to him. Come here and prove you belong?

The thought occurs that with this loan signing, BJ is very much relying on his own judgement
The signings of both Afuye and Oduroh were presumably made following recommendations by MRKT with both subsequently 'moved on' whether permanently or temporarily. Perhaps BJ is now growing in confidence, having survived a baptism in management that must've seemed like being immersed in a bath of acid
The future relationship with MRKT is open to question, not least if new owners arrive. They'll be well aware of this, and it'd be interesting to know the T&Cs of their contract with Dale
