Match stats aligned. Is this significant? 15:29 - Nov 2 with 297 viewsReslovenSwan1

Under early Martin games the possession stats were out of harmony with the shot shots on goal, touches in the box, corners goals etc.

Swansea had 60% possession but only 30-40 % of other parameters. Swansea were mid table only though the extraordinary exploits of Piroe with his XG.

I compared the two Millwall losses over 5 months and stated no progress. What was apparent wad that the stats for the recent game were more aligned. 60% possession 60% shots
corners etc. Only goals were out of synchronicity. In the May 2024 game Millwall had more shots and corners with 35% possession.

Today all the parameter aligned 60% possession 60% shots on and off target and 60% goals (66%). This alignment has taken over three years. This is what happens with Man city Liverpool and Chelsea who dominate all parameters.

Under Martin the parameter were often inverted. Cabango and Darling is the first really solid CB pairing perhaps?

I s do not claim to be a technical expert and never played much but the three years of possession football must start having an effect eventually. If a team has 60%of all these parameters with competent CB and forwards 2-1 wins are more likely than not in my simple logic.
