He was terrible the game linked below, but for most others, he was a decent ref. Still fuming about this one. Townson reacted after many fouls by their big centre half (Paul Heckingbottom) that went unpunished by Rennie. Rennie shaking George Reynolds hand at full time was awful to see after what went on.

Correct, i was at that game and still haven't forgotten. I always thought he was a referee who liked to take centre stage, fans pay to see the players not the officials. RIP though, it seems he was a very nice fella when you read the tributes from people who knew him.
