"My main message is to reassure all fans that this issue has the 100% focus of the Club, the board and the ownership group. There has understandably been much speculation amongst fans about what action should or could be taken at this point. We are looking at all available options. Some of the more extreme options have significant technical, logistical and/or regulatory challenges associated with them (and in some cases all three of these!) but we are not ruling anything out.
We are working through all of the possibilities with the various 3rd parties involved to assess feasibility. If we consider that any of the options are feasible / deliverable and will materially improve our position, we have the support of the majority ownership group to proceed with them.
In the meantime, we continue to carry out remedial work to the pitch and manage the current situation as best we can"

On a similar subject, what are peoples thoughts on the floodlights? The lighting looks a little below what it should be to me, in comparison to other clubs. I wonder if at the same time as fixing the pitch it would be possible to wire up a few extra lights maybe along the front edge of the Willbutts Lane Stand or the main stand. That's if the budget will stretch. Maybe it's my eyesight failing though, that's also a possibility.
I think it is.
I'm not a maestro, far from it, but I just engage my brain before posting.

It says that the pitch can be layed to suit either football or rugby, I really hope it is layed to suit football more than rugby, and especially the style which we play. Absolutely fantastic what the Ogden's have done, thank you very much.

We upgraded the floodlights to meet new regulations about 3 or 4 years ago. So I doubt they are below the standard needed. But they don't feel very bright I agree. Given that the Ogdens are lending the club another £1.5m (?) to rebuild the pitch, I am not sure we can ask for more at this time.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

No agree, i'm not talking about asking them. I was just saying that the lights don't seem very bright, they are probably fit for purpose though. It's up to the owners what they do. If more lights need installing in certain areas they might conider doing the work at the same time as the pitch.

Not checked this season, but there used to be individual lights that weren’t pointing towards the pitch in the past!
There might be a reason for this, but worth checking on Saturday.
With the best will in the world I can’t see it being on at all

If, by any chance, the pitch isn't quite ready by the 24th, both Dale and Truro have a free Saturday on the 31st
Almost certainly won't be necessary to swap dates, but it's an option if both clubs agreed or the weather intervenes on the 24th (of course, the weather might be okay on the 24th and rubbish on the 31st)

Ignoring having to squeeze in the fixture somewhere else, I think the free date actually works well considering the 3 fixtures that follow from 3rd-11th Feb (Boreham Wood, Carlisle, Forest Green). Gives the players time to rest any niggles from the next 3 games.

On the other hand, the switch would mean three games in four days at Spotland with Hornets playing their home opener the following day.

Partly selfish, in that i can't make the fixture if it's the 24th, but can make the 31st. Would love to be there for the new COA turf and Truro as a team i never thought we'd play in a league fixture
In which case, if we want them to, they can go and play somewhere else.
Depends on the contract they have presumably. A bit harsh expecting them to rearrange their home opener at two weeks notice or less to accommodate Dale moving a game already scheduled for another date.

Just shows what can be done when diligent and intelligent professionalism are brought into the club, now part of our DNA
Announcing to the supporters that the work had come in under budget. There's no way on gods earth that information would have been revealed a few years ago.
