Hopefully it is just minor as with Smith being out we can ill afford another medium/long term injury up top.

Will be interesting to see how this works Gilmour's obviously got a goal or two in him, so could see him playing in a slightly more advanced role than usual. Pettit reminds me of Vinny Leech, who formed the famous midfield combo with Billy Rudd in an earlier Dale supporting life. I think it offers greater solidity without much sacrifice going forward, although no doubt East will still have a big part to play "King Keef" will be shaking his head...

Jim doesn't do shooting he's more a tap-in kinda guy.....Shooting is crude and unpolished, tap-ins are stylish and cool.....

| Refwatch - Tamworth v Rochdale on 14:53 - Nov 22 with 4255 views | dawlishdale | Two ways to look at today's performance. Its another win at a potentially difficult venue and another three vital points towards a promotion challenge. However there should have been a much bigger margin of victory today. ,and our disappointing finishing could easily have cost us a couple of points. I still think we need to keep a player upfront when defending set pieces and we definitely need to have more accurate shots on goal. Overall, happy with the win. Into the next one. | | | |

Good win, decent performance. More devilment needed in the box, Mani especially has to be doing more to create issues for defenders. But yeah, we need to be testing the keeper much more when we shoot. It’s becoming a familiar pattern recently, the York game showing why you have to make the most of chances. Allarakhia, Pettit and Gilmour all played well and EEL has recovered well after a short dodgy spell. A win like that is quite good, because there are obvious areas that can be improved.

Its great that we won but if we are serious about trying to win this league we need to be much more prepared to test the opposition goalkeeper. Its fine working the ball in and around the area but if we do not fire in a shot when an opportunity occurs (which it did several times in this game) we will always be vulnerable to the lucky hit or goal against the run of play. Surely the management team must see when reviewing games how many chances to shoot we turn down in favour of an extra pass. We have got away with it in a number of matches this season because of stoic and spirited defending but it should not be necessary to be biting finger nails when we have dominated a poor team like we have today.
