Benson is off to AFCON on 15th December. No decision yet on any players here on loan returning back to their clubs. Lissah has been talked about but no decision yet on any of our players coming back. | Swansea City v Oxford United : Match day thread on 13:47 - Dec 4 by Demitrius | Interesting that tonight he was played at RCB by McGlynn and performed well even better than he has at LB in his last 8 games.... He's been named Player of the Month for November :--- "The defender picks up his first club award since joining on loan in the Summer. Naturally a central defender, Filip has filled in at left back due to injuries and has put in a run of impressive performances. The Bairns have enjoyed a very successful November that has seen us go unbeaten in the William Hill Premiership, with two dominant wins against Kilmarnock and Dundee United, and two draws against Livingston and Rangers. Falkirk sit sixth in the table, exceeding all expectations, and Filip’s performances have been an crucial part of the team’s run of form. Well done, Filip!" I don't know if he's ready for the Championship FT but seems to be holding his own in the SPL - Seems he would be a useful utility player in our woeful defence though. The old adage if they're good enough they're old enough springs to mind. Some comments from Falkirk fans after last night's game against Motherwell :--- "Lissah plays with slippers on. What a f**king player. Strolled it." "I'll take it...how Lissah is deemed surplus in a struggling Swansea side is unbelievable...that little juke through the middle a thing of beauty... stunned if this guy doesn't go on to have a great career " "I had zero expectations for Filip Lissah when he signed. None. I thought he was here to make up the squad, bit of cover on the right. How wrong I was. This lad is something special. I hope we get to keep him for the season before he heads on to bigger things. What a talent." "The ball comes near Lissah and 9 times out of 10, one of the following occurs : - controls it first time - wins a header which goes to a Falkirk player - takes off the pressure with a crisp, accurate pass to (the excellent) Bain - accepts a pass from a Falkirk player and plays an accurate forward pass - wins a 50-50 tackle He’s only played a handful of games at this level - the last two against current top 5 teams in Scotland. Every time he’s looked the best defender on the park. An exceptional talent." [Post edited 4 Dec 14:01]

Good to see so many positive comments. He has pedigree, came through Chelsea kids teams. Unfortunately he got injured last season at a critical point when the first team squad had injuries or he may have had his chance. We ended up playing Naughton as a centre back for a few games. Let him stay there and play, now is not the time to bring him back

I do wonder what kind of "statement" the other players have made to be picked.

There are many things that go on and supporters dont see. I'm not saying this is the case with Yalcouye but it is not unusual for young players to act the Billy big bollux, we have had them here on loan, bought some and had them come through the academy ourselves. They get chances then the coaching staff say enough is enough. How often do we let academy players go and supporters wonder why. I will say again I don't know the position with Yalcouye, but sometimes we have to trust the coaching staff.

He has to lose this "falling over business in the hope he is going to get a free kick.." Refs are not buying it stay on your feet that way we have 11 players affecting the game. Also I am not 100 % certain he is match fit he seems to run out of steam. 1-1 [Post edited 1 Dec 21:04]

He’s learned that from Ronald and Franco - two senior players who should give a better example .

I’m going to give Motos my 100% support. He seems to know what’s wrong and give none of the flannel like Sheehans, Martin and Williams gave and without throwing the players under the bus. It’s do or die today and we will see what the players give and what heart they show. If it’s as pathetic as it was at Bristol City and we lose this 6 pointer then the club have to act in January.

Cullen is a rotten apple who was awful against Bristol City. He’s weak and contributes nothing but pointing . Give Widdell a chance - physically strong, aggressive and skilful. Plus he will have a go shooting wise.

To be honest if I saw Cullen on the team sheet every week in front of me knowing I was the much better player I’d be having a paddy as would most of us.

If Matos wants a very high press I think Cullen and Eon are the best option, whilst still having the option to break into the box beyond Vipotnik. Without wingers they can also drift wide if the play dictates. Football is all about opinions and if you don't have a strong dislike of a player it is easier to see the bigger picture. Cullen plays better for Wales than for us, surely that is down to the manager and the system/style more than the player. Hopefully Matos can get the best out of the whole squad.

At this point you could put prime Messi in this team and it wouldn't make much difference. Reality is there is too many flaws in players basic play. Until that is sorted we will keep on losing. We need to win today, but the positive person I am, we won't 🤣. For me Cullen should be knowwhere near the team Saying that Key for me is the one player who needs to be dropped The amount of space he leaves players is nuts. [Post edited 6 Dec 9:48]

This is true, but for me it is how you are asked to play. Take Grimes as an example, first name on the team sheet here for most managers but rightly criticised by many supporters including myself. Goes to Coventry and immediately helps them get to the play offs. Captain this year, loved by the manager and supporters and clear at the top of the league. We have had crap managers recently and surly that affects players and playing style, hopefully Matos can turn things around.

Grimes should have stood up to the coaches to end their ludicrous ways He was the centre of everything flow about us At Coventry , yeah, he shows he can be influential Not PL standard though Key is simply bad and shouldn’t have been given another de Anyway, he was so let’s get it back We can do this
