This is just a general consensus on could the bubble be scrapped ? There are derbies everywhere but only ours I believe is left as a bubble match , correct me if I am wrong? (In the Uk)
Technology and policing has moved along somewhat.
It would be interesting to know the policing cost of the bubble V the alternative. If anyone has any sort of idea about policing of games. Please could you share why the police would insist on this staying a bubble? Also the logistical challenges of making this happen, cost man/woman power ect. Would be nice to have some sort of idea behind the risk assessment of such a game.
But they’re Welsh , our capital, our travelling wales fans have a great craic with them knocking back the booze abroad so they could do it in Landre Welcome Cardiff fans on the Railway, Alma and the Globe ! No? If not then why should swansra fans and Cardiff ones have to be separate Both Welsh Innit

You all miss the point I read innumerable tales on here about how great cardiff lads are when at Wales games ,all have a great time ,apparently. Why then do fans feel inclined to chuck bricks etc when facing each other ? then be all chums at Wales games? Its massive hypocrisy

It’s very different people doing that. Those who follow wales away are generally decent folk who like to meet people when going away, throwing stones at coaches? Who the f eck does that these days? I think it’s still too early, there would be groups trying to get at, or pretend to at least, the police escort walking from ground to station etc. some people think it’s still 1993

I agree especially with the previous attempts of a certain Swans group using their imagination to get into Cardiff. It would be a blood bath imo.
I totally agree with you, it would be carnage. If it kicked off large, it could potentially cause a huge amount of damage to the club, sponsors not wanting to be associated with the brand, people staying away etc and it could generally damage Wales as a country. Leave it as it is.

When was driving to the last derby I was taking the route the Cardiff fans busses take. There are police on every bridge there is always an idot that could.
The police escort was in my mind after seeing it happen with the Newcastle fans v Sunderland the other day. What do you think your lot would think of this post?

This season. First time the clubs have met in the league for 13 years.
There was a cup game about 5 years ago that despite heavy policing was carnage so this fixture is now a bubble on police advice.
I live in the Reading area and know a few die-hards from both clubs. It's more hatred than rivalry for sure.
Cheers mate ,
Reading fans can be a bit crazy as well can’t they? With Southampton and Portsmouth being so close together surely they could just go on nights out in each others towns if they really wanted trouble. It’s like going from Swansea to neath well 10 mins extra.
Wonder if West Ham come down will their game v Millwall be a bubble? Or if Orient come up?

Good point here mate.
Without the bubble also the spill over after the game on wind street and in Cardiff city centre would be enough to wreck our reputations.
Think of when we won last min with Cabango then partying in Cardiff . It is sad really that we still see Cardiff as a rival shouldn’t we pretend Bristol City are? 🤣
That meme Keith done before one of the derby games with Bristol are our biggest rivals and Clark’s pies face dude just popped into my head.
I don’t think the rivalry is anything like it was in the Vetch and Ninian Park days. Last time I went to a derby with that level of intensity was the Jordi Gomez cup game. That’s all the games since at home and three away.
However, if they did relax the bubble, the first game back would be mayhem, just because it hasn’t happened for so long and it would draw plenty of people out of the woodwork. Over time, I’m sure it would simmer down, but the first game at each ground would be so bad they’d immediately re-introduce it.
