There were still 3/4 games after that. Brentford v Doncaster a few years back was for the title in L1 but both teams went up.

The Liverpool game was fascinating as Arsenal had to win by 2 goals.

The game itself was never scheduled for the last match of the season initially..the Hillsborough disaster forced the rearrangement

Arsenals second goal could not have been better timed.

This was pre sky days i think but the game was shown live on Tv.

I was in the “ Two Ships “ in town. They had it on TV but I wasn’t too interested to be honest. Just as I walked to the bar to buy another pint I saw the Arsenal player ( Thomas ?) run through to score the winner. Good timing for me and Arsenal.

Did enjoy the footy on a Sunday afternoon on itv..Sinstadt..Moore And Hugh Johns were great commentators..on the radio Peter Jones was fantastic
