Johnson set for EDS run-out this afternoon ...

R's front-man Andrew Johnson is set to return to action this afternoon, as the Elite Development Squad lock horns with Brentford at Loftus Road.

Johnson, who has been sidelined with a knee injury in recent weeks, returned to training last week and is now in line to gain some crucial match minutes when the Bees make the short journey across West London to W12.

Javier Chevanton and Matty Phillips are expected to complete the over-age quota for Marc Bircham's side, as the build-up to Saturday's top-of-the-table clash versus Burnley in the Sky Bet Championship gathers pace.

Entry to Loftus Road is FREE (via the South Africa Road stand) and boss Bircham is hoping for a good turn-out.

"It would be great to see a good crowd," he told http://www.qpr.co.uk.

"The games at Loftus Road have been well-attended in the past and the lads have generally put on a good display."

Rangers currently occupy fourth spot in the U-21 Professional Development League Two, with three wins from their opening five games to date.

The Bees, meanwhile, sit one place below in fifth, with seven points from four matches.

The match kicks off at 1.00pm at Loftus Road.

However, if you can’t make it along to W12 then we will be streaming the match live for FREE via our official Ustream channel — http://www.ustream.tv/officialQPR

Coverage will start from 12:55pm with our commentary team of Tony Incenzo and Andy Watkins.

Just seen it is 4-0 not 3-0. PLEASE JUST IGNORE ME.

Gone to Colchester on loan but not played yet. Would be great if he could keep progressing the way he is.

Phillips sounds like he needs a few games, might be an idea to loan him out for a month, would be a bold move as we only just bought him but think he needs to be playing and getting his confidence back

Full match CHAVANTON MUST BE GIVEN A GO SOON!

Full-Time - A very harsh result on The Bees here at Loftus Road today. The class of Johnson and Chevanton up front made all the difference but The Bees can take a lot of positives out of today's game.
90 + 2 mins - Hitchcock with the last chance of the game but he fires over from 30 yards.
90+1 mins - Laurent goes into the book for a very strong lunging tackle on Calvet.
90 mins - Carriera releases Skapetas but Bonham is out quickly to block the shot.
86 mins - Kpekwa gets forward a long way from left-back and pulls a shot across the face of goal from 25 yards. The Bees attack up the other end and Adams fires over from 25 yards.
83 mins - Petrasso is replaced by David Fitzpatrick for QPR's third change.
80 mins - Moore's shot from the edge of the box takes a slight nick off the defender and goes behind for a corner. Adams takes the corner and gets it back from Reeves, he bursts into the box and his low shot is well held by Lennox.
79 mins - Moore goes close again as he is released by a slide rule pass from Miller-Rodney. However, The Bees front man pulls his shot across the face of goal from the edge of the box.
76 mins - A second change for QPR as Chevanton is replaced by Petros Skepetas.
73 mins - Brentford have a perfectly good goal disallowed as Moore taps home after Adams forces Lennox into a fine save. The linesman raises his flag despite the fact that QPR's full back is playing Moore onside by at least five yards.
72 mins - Johnson is replaced by Dylan Carriera
70 mins - QPR 4 (Chevanton) Brentford 0
QPR's front three of Phillips, Chevanton and Johnson combine well and Chevanton is on hand at the back post to tap home from Phillips fine pull back.
67 mins - Chevanton and Johnson combine well. Johnson bears down on goal but Bonham spreads himself well and makes a good save before diving on the ball ahead of Chevanton.
64 mins - Phillips finds himself is space midway inside The Bees half but he fires high into the top tier of The Loft End
62 mins - Fillo is brought down in the midfield and he takes the free-kick quickly releasing Moore. He jinks inside the box and gets onto his left foot and his shot is deflected wide for a corner. From the corner Pierre should really score but he powers a header wide from six yards at the back post.
59 mins - Clarke is the next to go close for The Bees as he fires over before a great run from Adams sees him hit a cross shot which goes wide of the far post.
56 mins - A poor throw in is picked up by Moore but he chooses to shoot from 30 yards when a pass to Fillo might have been on.
54 mins - The Bees keep pushing forward and Adams jinks past a couple of players before Magri makes an excellent sliding block on the edge of the area.
53 mins - A couple of chances for The Bees as first Moore's shot is blocked and then Adams runs into the QPR half but his cross to unmarked Moore is cut out by Sendles-White. From the clearance Mawson comes forward from the back and fires straight at Lennox from 30 yards.
49 mins - The Bees are back on the attack and Pierre wins a corner off Phillips. It is drilled in by Adams and Calvet chests it down at the back post before firing into the side netting from eight yards.
47 mins QPR 3 (Javier Chevanton) Brentford 0
QPR have struck right at the start of the half to kill the game off. Johnson collects the ball from Jamie Sendles-White and clips a lovely ball over the top. Chevanton looks offside but the linesman keeps his flag down and the Uruguayan international finishes clinically past Bonham.
Half-Time - QPR bookended the half with two bits of real class but much of the middle belonged to The Bees. QPR are by no means looking solid at the back and The Bees will be looking for an early goal to get back into this.
43 mins - QPR 2 (Petrasso) Brentford 0
A real sucker punch before half time. QPR have been under the cosh for much of the latter stages of the first-half but score out of nothing here. Johnson rolls Nugent and uses his strength to hold off his challenge before rolling to ball across the six yard box for Petrasso to tap home at the back post.
40 mins - Miller-Rodney presses high and wins the ball off Josh Laurent in the midfield. For a moment it is two on one but Miller-Rodney goes for glory with Moore unmarked on the edge of the box.
39 mins - QPR's defence is under serious pressure as the half comes to a close. Pierre does well on the left and the ball is moved across the midfield to Clarke wide on the right. He cuts into the box and rolls it back for Fillo but the Czech man leans back and skies it well over from eight yards.
36 mins - Adams is one v one with Kpekwa on the right and a drop of the shoulder leaves the QPR defender for dead. Adams drives into the box but his cut-back is smuggled behind off the toe of Moore. From the corner Mawson nods wide at the back post.
34 mins - As dangerous as QPR look going forward there is a definite weakness at the back. Moore's header is blocked and it drops to Fillo who cuts onto his left foot and sees his deflected shot well turned over the bar by Lennox.
29 mins - The Rugby League World Cup starts this weekend but Sam Magri has put in for big hit of the tournament here today. Adams gets a toe to the ball before him but the centre-back can't stop and flattens Adams with a shoulder in the centre-circle. Adams takes a few seconds to collect himself but is fine to continue.
27 mins - Josh Clarke is up-ended inside the D giving The Bees a free-kick in a very dangerous area. Adams initial effort hits the wall but Pierre twists and turns before pulling a shot just wide of the far post but also just out of the reach of Martin Fillo.
25 mins - QPR come close to making it two. Matt Phillips leaves Pierre for dead but his cut back is inches out of the reach of Tom Hitchcock as he slides in at the far post.
20 mins - Cole Kpekwa fells Martin Fillo right on the right-hand edge of the box. Adams whips in a lovely ball but it is glanced behind for a corner before Ben Nugent can get on the end of it. From the corner Calvet heads straight at Lennox from 8 yards.
19 mins - Moore forces Aaron Lennox into his first action of the afternoon but his low shot from the edge of the box is easily gathered by the QPR stopper.
16 mins - Johnson shows exactly why he was at once one of the most feared strikers in England. He races on to a hopeful ball over the top and hooks a volley towards goal that forces Bonham into a smart block save when there appeared to be no danger at all.
13 mins - That really should be 1-1. The Bees have reacted well to going behind and Pierre bursts into the box from left-back and pulls the ball across the six yard box. Montell Moore can't connect but it drops to Charlie Adams eight yards out dead central but he curls it wide of the left-hand upright.
10 mins QPR 1 (Michael Petrasso) Brentford 0
QPR get the goal their early pressure has threatened. Petrasso cuts inside from the left, plays a lovely one-two with Johnson before curling an effort from 12 yards into the top right corner.
7 mins - Nugent's header from a high hanging cross falls straight to Chevanton who blasts a shot against captain Aaron Pierre and behind for a corner. Chevanton takes the corner himself and when it is played back out to him he cuts into the box and forces Jack Bonham into a fine full stretch save from his low shot.
3 mins - Michael Petrasso is released down the left for QPR he gets free of The Bees defence but Raphael Calvet matches him stride for stride and makes a key block as he looks to shoot from the edge of the area.
2 mins - QPR are straight on the attack from the kick off and good interplay between Uruguayan international Javier Chevanton and England International Andy Johnson releases Johnson but his shot is bravely blocked by Ben Nugent.
It is QPR with the kick-off in their traditional blue and white hooped shirts, white shorts and white shorts while The Bees are in red and white stripes, black shorts and black socks.

The Bees come into today's game off the back of a 3-1 defeat away at Cardiff City last time out while Rangers are two points better off than The Bees following defeat against Bristol City.

In Spite of Johnson, Chevanton, and Phillips, the stand out players, Furlong, Sendells-White and Magri bode well for the future.
Furlong's natural attacking tendencies which are backed up by pace, heart and really hardwork had to be curtailed because of a totally disinterested or arrogant or lazy or unfit or injured Matty Phillips...worrying if it's all of those, turned his back on ever cross he defended, a mixed display which also gave us a very good ball across the box for Chevvy's second goal.
Great technique shown by Chevanton (a great option for the last half hour to replace a tired or injured player, not sure he can do enough work off the ball to play 90. Johnson doing what he does best.
So Harry? start with two up top and take the game to the Leaders or usual Charlie on his own and hope we can pass them to death....It's a long season, plenty of points to play for, take the game to Burnley would be my hope....Johnson and Austin, Hoilet, Faurlin, Barton, O'Neil, usual at the back if Simpson is fit!

"Kids"

Jesus. It's no wonder I was bullied when younger - if that's what size kids are these days then we are living in the land of the giants!!!

Seems to me there is a series of fine lines between all levels of football these days once you enter the semi-pro or pro game.
It's a shame the biggest, quickest, fittest, strongest always seem to make it but thems the facts.

My point is - Chevy looked good against some strong, fit, fast etc players. Yes they were in-experienced but to write his efforts off as against a bunch of kids dont do him justice. I thought he looked very good and certainly able to lift his game another 25% with a crown behind him.
I hope he stays, plays and makes himself a hero in W12

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

AJ was our best player. You either were wearing the same glasses as the lino on the ellerslie rd side or you were watching a different game. He makes so many different runs it opens the game up for others . My mate commented after a bout 5 minutes I hope he's over his injury then crash bang wallop he flew into a tackle, got up then dived into a second full blooded tackle answering my mates question. I think he was involved in 3 of the 4 goals . Unselfishly laid it on a plate for the second goal when he could've scored himself.
As for Chevanton, he looked good when he got the ball but that was too infrequent. Not sure if his English is any good but his one twos with AJ and Petrasso were a joy to watch at times and is something obviously worked out on the training pitch. I just though he needed to be in the game a lot more.
Phillips ?? Oh deary me and Tom Hitchcock looked lost in the centre of midfield. The two centre backs looked solid as a pairing with Lennox pulling off a couple of really good saves.

Not sure if anyone saw it online but the ball ended up wedged in the scoreboard at the school end.And the stewards were the biggest jobsworths in the world. An empty SAR but we could only sit in one block , they actually asked us not to sit one side of the aisle.

Mike Petrasso is a Canadian winger, who's been with the club for a few years. Just moved up from U18s. From what I've seen he's got a chance. Certainly more likely than his compatriot, Carreiro.
