MacKeeper 911 for mac 10:28 - Jan 30 with 2033 views

I have a 3 month macbook air. Now I have started getting pop ups almost every time I surf the net and click a new site. Does anyone know the MacKeeper software and is it any good. Or does anyone know how to stop these pop ups or clean up a mac

PS I am IT illiterate so keep it simple

Avoid it, avoid it, avoid it! At all costs!

There's no need. What you have is a lot of adware, and this usually comes from either torrent sites, or third party video streaming sites.

They leave small files (similar to cookies) on your Mac, which cause the pop ups.

If you to to your top menu bar (on finder)
Go>go to folder > then type in the folder addresses specified in the article.

Also, go to safari > preferences > extensions
And get rid of any you don't use/recognise!

Thanks a lot, that's done the trick

You've also explained how it happened ( I think). I downloaded a programme on monday so I could stream the Stoke game live, and the trouble started from then
