POF Podcast - Money Laundering 19:09 - Sep 26 with 2100 viewsUpTheDaleNotForSale

It looks like the POF pod this week has a detailed conversation about money laundering and how football clubs can be used as a vehicle for unscrupulous activities. It could be an interesting listen for us based on some of the allegations / theories we have had to contend with over the summer.

We'll link to it in this thread when its available.

Great stuff - and should anyone be interested to learn more about the whole subject, this eye-opening book will frighten the life out of anyone who might be on the receiving end of these financial sharks or vulnerable to their advances.

You only have to look at the issues in football over the last ten years, particularly in the EFL to wonder where money appears from and then is written off to.

Granted, a number of clubs carry this as debt themselves but looking at examples like Bury, Swindon and many others there does look a lot of questions to be answered about where has the money come from and more importantly where has it gone.

Kieran Maguire is a fantastic exponent of bringing these issues to the fore and it will be interesting to hear the podcast when it becomes available.

The unconvincing presentation given at the 1st June 2021 meetings by a former employee held up Fleetwood Town's facilities as a beacon of where they wanted to RAFC be. Clearly, the research for this presentation had not been done with due care and attention as some important facts were missed out. This POF podcast reveals Fleetwood Town are losing £100,000 a week and have debts of £21million owed to companies owned by Andy Piley. Hardly a model of good or sustainable business practice for this club to aspire to is it?

One of the best podcasts out there. Pity Kieren isn't in charge or on the management board of a number of footballing bodies

although off their normal finance content, they did a show last week about colour blindness & it's effect on fans & players. Very interesting listen
