Just perusing the https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/keep-rochdale-afc-fan-owned/ comments and there are lots of Derby County fans donating magnificently to the Dale cause. We have also had terrific support from Charlton Athletic fans and indeed from fans of a host of other clubs around the country. We all share the nightmare of hostile, inappropriate takeovers from people who have never supported a football club in their lives.
The football family is starting to realise how vulnerable our clubs are. No one is safe from these predators.
If we lose this case because we couldn't raise enough money to defend ourselves properly, the whole idea of fan-owned clubs goes out of the window. Win or lose, the likes of MH will simply have to drag our Trusts and Directors through the courts and they will effectively put an end to fans running their own clubs simply because of the threat of being sued and the costs associated with defending themselves.
So, thankyou to everyone who has pitched in so far, please explain our situation to everyone at the next game you go to and let them know how they can help. Remember this is about those who freely give their time and energy to run the club who now need our support. |  | | |  |
