I had no idea Stewart Day was back in football.

Don't think there can be too many comparisons drawn between Stott and Day, tbh.

For starters, he wiped out the £7.7m debt the club 'owed him' for the takeover this summer (which was his plan all along). I don't think Day was ever going to be in a position to do that kind of thing.

20,000 may seem a lot, but their lowest crowd so far this season in the league was 7,800 and I think they may have even sold out their current 10,000 capacity for the Barrow game on the opening day of the season, so it's not that different to having a 10,000 capacity ground with average gates of less than 3,000 like us.

As much as we may not like it, I think Stockport have lucked out with investment from a wealthy, genuine, local benefactor.

I know a lot of people do seem to think there's another Bury going to occur at Stockport but it doesn't seem likely.

Have to agree even though their fans are bellends about it. It’s an interesting story though and I’ll be curious to see how it develops and how far they can go with it. I’m no good at financial stuff so not sure how much it will all cost the bloke but he must have fairly deep pockets.

Or until he becomes bored of spending money and the whole idea becomes unsustainable anyway.... where have we heard this kind of thing before
