| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 14:46 - Oct 16 with 4007 views | BlueWizard | This is also a clash of the chippys !! Crewe have one opposite the souvenir shop by the ground like ours !! It was good the last time I went to a match there !! Main Train Station is right next to the ground for anyone not been before and is a good way of getting there as parking is limited. I unfortunately cannot make this one ...😢 But hopefully a win or a draw will be great ... | | | |

Can we expect a club that has never been in the first round proper of the FA cup claiming to have won it twice? Nailed on

They’re all getting very excited about being in some obscure corner of iplayer via the red button bless them. Might tune in for a few minutes to see if the fans of their new club are knuckle dragging halfwits like fans of CCFB Realisations were.

| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 15:51 - Oct 17 with 2297 views | dannyuk | Probably the better team for the first half an hour, don't even have shot on target, then start to drop back and get stuck. Bit unlucky with the deflection on the first but that second goal is absolutely dire. Thought we'd left that shite back with the first few games. [Post edited 17 Oct 15:51]

| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 15:53 - Oct 17 with 2254 views | Cedar_Room | Absolutely not a half we should be going in 2 down. We were the better team for most of it with Hayes especially tearing them apart, again, down the right. However as the half went on you felt like we might start to rue the fact we didn’t make all of the possession and domination count. Sure enough they scored from what I think was their first shot on goal(?). The second goal was Wilson fannying around with it on the left when it was easier just to kick it out. He gets dispossessed leaving a Crewe man wide open in the box to tap in the cross. We need to be doing better getting the ball into the box and getting someone on the end of it. For all our possession I’m not sure their keeper has made many saves. I’d like to think we can still get something out of this game but another goal from them would surely kill us off. | | | |
| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 15:53 - Oct 17 with 2253 views | dawlishdale | Probably one of our better performances for much of the half. Thought we looked dangerous especially though Hayes. Sadly, we were undone by a deflected shot following a corner and then a howler from Wilson when there was little danger. 2-0 flatters Crewe who look no better than us but have been fortunate. C'mon Dale. | | | |

Self destruct button activated. Always due a couple with young players. Played well without creating too much, but soft goals to concede. Unless something crazy happens second half, this might just be a learning game. Gilmor having a good game and Hayes battling and causing problems but don’t really see a way back into this now.

Need to find a way to get Tasker and Middleton involved more, everything is going down the other flank with Hayes.

Wasn’t their first shot, Flint blocked a shot which looked to be going in and Waller saved another low to his right before they scored. I agree we played as well as I’ve seen this season in the first half. Wilson is young and has improved but for me he wouldn’t be in the first 11 if we had a full compliment. Hes got a gaffe or two in him and has given away multiple chances (and goals) this season through inexperience. That said other than the clanger today’s the best I’ve seen him play! I’m not too disheartened - certainly not as much as after Gillingham. I think we held our own first half against a better team. Some encouraging signs.
| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 17:08 - Oct 17 with 1514 views | SaxonDale | Some positives despite the result in that. I think performances have improved significantly since the start of the season and there's enough about this team now to suggest we should be ok at the end of the season. Beckwith's distribution made a big difference after he came on and Hayes looked very lively in the first half. A few individual errors aside, I thought we were largely the better team until their goals went in a changed the dynamic of the match. We have a few players that I don't think are quite good enough at the moment, and I reckon only about 7 players who started today would be in Watson's first XI, will be interesting to see what happens in January when we have more players back and players have had longer to get used to the league. | | | |
| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 17:22 - Oct 17 with 1388 views | dannyuk | Whilst we were far from deserving of a win today, I don't think we deserved to lose. Unfortunate with the deflected first goal, capitulation for the second, and then their third fell kindly from a terribly scuffed shot. Crewe are far from "all that" on today's showing and they are now up to 3rd. They marked Middleton out of the game first half, then when he finally started getting the ball we got our own fortunate deflected goal, and the 2nd came from that side too. I think Tobi was better today than the last game but if Beckwith is fit enough to start on the left and Tasker move back to the right, then that should be how we start games. Taylor really needs to improve his final ball, shot, or deciding to try to beat another man if he's holding on to that 10 position because he played well today up until having to choose that, and it was pretty much utter crap every time. Wouldn't mind trying Francis there as it looked like he did late on, or East when back fit. [Post edited 17 Oct 17:25]

Out for 10 weeks as per Watson’s post match interview. Never known a season like it for long term injuries. The general quality across the division is reflected in the table at present. Two points off 4th, four points ahead of 23rd. Any side who can put a run together has a chance.

| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 18:39 - Oct 17 with 983 views | Cedar_Room | I think that game shows us where we are at the moment. We can play some good football and go toe to toe with the better teams BUT we are prone to making silly unforced errors and don’t really create enough in the final third to make the most of all our possession. We’ll certainly beat plenty of teams playing that way but those mistakes and a lack of goals will probably ensure we stay mid table. Given how we started the season - that’s nothing to be sniffed at and I actually thought we probably should have come away with something today against a team who seem likely to be challenging for automatic. (Side note I didn’t think they were much cop, just better at finishing their chances). Despite the result I’m much more optimistic than I was that we’ll be alright this season. | | | |
| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 18:47 - Oct 17 with 955 views | dawlishdale | I thought we could easily have had a point today. As IW says, certainly two of their goals were fortunate (as was our first) but overall, we caused them a lot of problems down the flanks. As Hayes regains full match fitness we will cause plenty of problems for a lot of teams. Where we are lacking is in centre midfield as Gilmour can't do it alone and Adeeko seems to have plenty of ability but somehow goes missing at times; same for Taylor; who's decision making isn't always the best. Oh for the Mani of last season instead of this years version. Perhaps he just needs a goal to kick start things. If Crewe are one of the better teams in L2 then we are not too far behind them, and can take huge encouragement from the fact that we have improved significantly since that first few games when we were all over the place. Oh for a better run of fortune with injuries. Think that's double figures of players out now...probably half of whom would start. | | | |
| Refwatch - Crewe Alexandra v Rochdale on 01:15 - Oct 18 with 243 views | Bazzanne | I thought we played some good football yesterday and certainly matched Crewe. Our big need at the moment is for a goalscorer. I don't see Mani coming good, hope I'm wrong. Brown I'm not convinced, does a lot of running but not my idea of a regular scorer, again hope I'm proved wrong. | | | |
