Thought Symes performed the target man role well without being spectacular, effectively dropping deep, winning the high ball and bringing others into play. Was the right choice to start him ahead of Grimes for this game. Still too early to tell whether he will be a big player in the relegation fight though.

Nothing fantastic but the odd decent touch and good bit of hold up play showed that once he's match fit he should be a good player for us. Nearly set up/scored the winner near the end too, played a sqaure ball for Thompson whose shot was blocked, it fell back to Symes who curled it over. Will give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was unlucky.

Grimes only good enough for the bench, which I agree with, not got the strength or work-rate for a 4-5-1 formation in my opinion. How big is Symes? Haven't seen him play.
