Wigan Athletic in administration on 14:45 - Jul 1 with 2444 views | aleanddale | Two division relegation. IT SHOULD BE THAT SIMPLE!! If they survive then they start in League 2. If Relegated then they should start in the 5th tier. Why the authorities have not rolled this out many seasons ago is a mystery. Until they do there will be plenty more wiping the overspending slate clean with little or no consequence.

Please can we now look into a Wigan-based sponsorship......to go along with our recent Bury / Bolton portfolio of business acquisitions??;)

They're not recent acquisitions. They are renewals of existing sponsorships.

I've always said automatic relegation and a points deduction the following season. However, booting out of the league may be the only way to stop cheats and comment ruining football. Unfortunately the premiershit has its own rules so football in this country is already ruined. About 35 years ago Ron Saunders, then of Aston Villa, said that only six teams would win the league in the future. He wasn't far off

Wigan Athletic in administration on 11:55 - Jul 8 with 1435 views | Brierls | The more you read on this, the dodgier it gets! Wow wow wow. Talksport had Dave Whelan on the phone within 30 mins of it being announced and he was dumbfounded. You could tell there was an underlying guilt of sorts because his sale appeared to be the catalyst for the situation they find themselves in. I wouldn't be surprised if Whelan was part of a consortium (e.g. Wigan Warriors) to buy the club. BUT...all this "Latics is the heartbeat of the town" nonsense that's being spouted in the media by MP's and the like is getting right on my tits. Wigan is a Rugby League town.

It's about gambling on Wigan going down, isn't it? Sudden run of good form has scuppered a large pay out so now hoping for a 12 point deduction to relegate them.
