| 48 hours to go 11:13 - Sep 3 with 1899 views | Dalenet | Here we are 48 hours to our first competitive game to start the 2020/21 season Its all a bit strange and doesn't feel like any other start of a season we will have ever experienced or will want to experience ever again. We are still here. I am grateful we are not bury and grateful that I don't sit as a Wigan fan whose club still hasn't had a formal bid three days after the deadline set by the administrator. But we do have our own problems and when we see that Accrington Stanley are on course to sell more STs than we will have done the club has to acknowledge it has a problem that needs to be fixed. The disconnect between club and fanbase has never been so wide. Apathy is a dangerous thing Our CEO has built his career being a sales and marketing man so will recognise the challenge. As CEO he will be focussed on a whole host of health and safety and financial issues but he will need to acknowledge that we have a problem right now and will need to do something quickly. I am less worried about the players we have. I am still hopeful that BBM will pull a rabbit out of an old smelly sock. But we need to create some level of positivity to get people interested. With 48 hours to go there is no interviews with managers or players. With 48 hours to go there is no rallying cry from the Board. With 48 hours to go to our first competitive home game (technically we are at home) where is the appeal to sell 3000 iFollow passes to at least improve engagement with fans and drive some much needed revenue. Come on Board, lets not let "Little Old Rochdale" accept mediocrity and lets put up a fight. | | | | |

Why are we not hearing a single word from any of them? Have any of them actually been seen at the club lately? Perhaps not it seems, but why? For goodness sake, let's hear something positive instead of the titbits we get on Twitter. We need to hear a rallying cry ahead of the first game and we need some 'upfront' comments from the hierarchy at the club. It's been a long, tough, surreal summer and the new season is upon us. Let's give it everything we've got and support the team through the trials ahead. In BBM we trust, but get him some tools to do the job. He's not a miracle worker. [Post edited 3 Sep 2020 11:57]

Heh, I recently posted in jest about staff taking a well deserved holiday. You don't think it could possibly be true?

Rathbone - looks like he's gone but we're told nothing. Genuine replacements? Two, possibly, and barely a rumour to indicate where the two forwards or left back we must have are coming from. "Ooooh we're poor little Rochdale and haven't a penny" despite the splendid financial bonuses of last season and interest from potential investors which was snubbed. Pull the other one. Let's look at the team who played our last league game: Sanchez Matheson O'Connell McShane Keohane Williams Lund Morley (substituted for Rathbone) Camps Wilbraham Henderson Six (possibly seven) of them no longer at the club. Replaced by who? Can't blame BBM if he's not given the resources. We are massively under-prepared for the season ahead to a point that is almost negligent, and the finger is pointing at the boardroom. Neither Lucan or the well paid Bottomley are showing any positivity and should consider if their actions are those becoming of true custodians of this club because they are dragging it down. "Managed relegation" ? Looks like it. Will we see the return of bedsheets to Spotland?
