I notice that WIlson has appointed a new assistant manager at Sheffield United. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13725957.stm Might be something and nothing, but it will reinforce the fact that Pemberton is going nowhere whilst he remains at Sheffield United. Whilst he's clearly done an excellent job with their Youth academy, and after being overlooked twice for the manager's job, there's not even been any internal promotion for him to suggest that they see a long term progression for him there. Hopefully that might be enough to tip him in our direction.
Di Matteo is still in the frame for the Cardiff job, so any outcome here will have to wait for the outcome there if Dunphy sees the Italian as the man.
