CRICKET on 19:50 - Apr 4 with 3198 views | D_Alien | Decent first day Getting Middlesex out for well under 300 with our openers unbeaten at the end, and a chance to press that home tomorrow and set the tone for the season

CRICKET on 20:36 - Apr 4 with 3152 views | DorsetDale | Missed the first wicket of the day as popped out of the room for a minute! Carried on watching till the partnership was almost a ton then had granddaughter for a few hours. Was pleasantly surprised to find our openers just beginning their innings when I resumed but also missed every wicket to fall.

same for me. I only saw the first session and a bit and Middlesex were well on top. Pleasant surprise this morning to see the scores. Looking forward to the first session today where hopefully we will get their lead to under 100. We should be one of the strong favourites to go up this year and Jennings & Bohannen should be able to fill their boots with runs. Some of the underachievers last year just need to step up and hopefully we will strike lucky with our overseas players too

A great day for Lsncs in the end after a slow start. Aspinwall and Sutton stepping up and ripping out the middle and late order. It's a big season for Aspinwall as he has potential to be an all format all rounder. As is the way of seamers injuries took their toll last season.

Slow scoring this morning, but building a platform with just the loss of Jennings so far

Indeed! Even yesterday I was watching the cricket whilst listening to DalePlayer. The commentators incidentally trying to pull the wool over listeners eyes/ears. It didn't wash.

CRICKET on 18:52 - Apr 6 with 2358 views | D_Alien | Should be an interesting last day at Lord's Middlesex have a lead approaching 200 with 4 wickets remaining, so a run chase that could go either way if the dry wicket starts to break up

Probably going to be a draw, unless Lancs collapse... Middlesex bowled out for 407 on the lunch interval, a lead of 308 with 67 overs left

CRICKET on 19:03 - Apr 7 with 2010 views | isitme | Just finished at Lords. A great game that went down to the last ball. When Wells and Balderson were in it looked promising, but after Wells got strangled down the leg side it was always shut up shop time.
CRICKET on 19:09 - Apr 7 with 2006 views | jonahwhereru | Fine day’s cricket today, with the result still in the balance well into the last session. Have to say I am a fan of George Balderson. Was an opening batsman at one stage and that experience paid off today in the last 6 overs. Pleased that we had a go at the run chase for a while until we needed to be more circumspect. Overall a decent start.

They did well to hang on in for the draw, but oh why did they bowl first with the forecast the way it was?

a very poor start to the season. Other than the first 2 days of the first game, we have hardly won a session in the opening 3 games. Odd decision not to bat first after winning the toss in the second game, however, other than that we have been totally outplayed. After last season it was surprising that the coach kept his job but he needs to get the team to step up soon otherwise he may be on his way out. Bowling in particular seems toothless and there have been very few good batting partnerships.
CRICKET on 09:05 - Apr 21 with 567 views | EllDale | How long does the coach get? Or are results secondary to hosting concerts or developing a new ground? Is cricket just a secondary concern?

The rain may save Lancs, but three draws is not a good start for the so called title favourites. We have been outplayed by both Northants and Leicestershire. Everything just seems muddled. We have a test opener batting at 4 and a wicket keeper who has been short of runs batting at 5. Is Jones, who is opening actually a better red ball prospect than Bell/Singh/Fonseca? In the first game they went in without a spinner and then in this game Balderston was opening the bowling as Bailey was dropped so that Turner, a two game loan signing could play. There has been a lot of conjecture on X that the tempo of the batting has been too slow and almost inviting pressure and the inevitable fall of wickets. Oh and Phillip's visa hadn't been secured for the first game of the season. It is not as if they had months to arrange it. [Post edited 21 Apr 11:33]
