Try and break the bank to sign him if The Odgens would like to go down that route. An absolute bully of a centre forward and would give us a massive chance of getting out of this league next season.............unless he can carry us over the line this season 👀.

He does look a class above. Instant impact today and it's like he hadn't been missing for 5 weeks. Let's hope he can stay fit for this next month and he could be a real weapon for us going into the playoffs.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

It would be a disastrous career move for him ..he’s clearly well above this standard..Dale are offering him a platform to display his talents to teams much further up the football tree.

I think that could be the reality unfortunately. Other clubs higher up the chain will be looking. To sign Bird i think we would have to win the Play Offs. He belongs in the EFL.

He turns 24 on 6 May

Has a record of bouncing around clubs on loan, not really settling

By his age, finding somewhere he feels 'at home' might be important to him, and Dale can be that kind of place. He could ask Hendo about that

I hope you're right. The similarity to COG is uncanny. I love the fact he just wants to get a shot off, thats the first thought in his mind.

Conversely, a season fit and banging them in could earn him a better deal further up the pyramid in the future.

I would be happy with him as the main man in league two if we did get promoted.

Money talks though (Mullin). If they give him a great offer, if he has a good season again his value will skyrocket and the option of a bigger move is always there. If we sign him we should be pushing for top 2 in any case so his move to the EFL might only be a year delayed (who am I kidding with my blind optimism!).

Worth remembering that the board pushed the boat out to sign COG at the time (2009?) because they knew he was our best chance to get promotion. It worked wonders, became a Dale legend. This guy could do the same.
