Been reading a lot into the youth team reports lately, and one lad stands out. Centre Midfielder, Jamie Allen. Chris Beech, seems to be giving him high reviews week in week out.
I'm sure this is Jamie's second year at Yth football. As last year he was playing for them, when being an u16s player!
I watched them against Salford, and with a few first team regulars playing. Allen didn't get his regular playing time, but when he came on with about 20 mins to go, he really did boss it. Him and Barry-Murphy linked up beautifully, in the middle of the park. & The lad must only be about 5ft6, strong as an ox and yet only 16 going on 17 I presume and from Rochdale himself.
Looks to be one for the future, anybody else heard much of him, or watched him? - Btw, Godwin scored 'yet again'. Whens he going to be given a chance?
I saw Steve Eyre at the Salford game, and heard he has watched a few Youth games already. |  |
