His stock was so low after recent failures that nobody in the Football League was likely to want to go near him.

This might be his last chance to try and rebuild his failed managerial career, but without money the bloke is hopeless so I fear for poor Northwich here.

Bizarely there was an article in the FT this week which had him down as one of the gaffers who has overachieved the most.
