Too much gloom & doom from you lot -- YES our team let's face it -- OUR TEAM HAVE BEEN - Bloody awful , mistake after mistake gifting goal after goal.... and the same old - same old from our strickers .... in danger of rather hitting the corner flag and row Z , than actually scoring and i'm as frustrated than most! But what good does moaning do?
Yes it will not be easy at all -- BUT, and it's a BIG BUT -- half the season is still left to play AND we are NOT cast adrift at the bottom, within 4 games we could be in MID TABLE SO LET US ALL get behind Nathan ( Just look at the turn around that he managed with Luton .... yes i know lower league standards ... but discipline/man management and hard work apply to all leagues --- he made things happen over time. ) THE BOARD is backing him with the signing of a world class proven midfielder that scores goals , with others being lined up to join the fight!
Guys , we also have a very young side -- I love JWP , but he is not vocal enough when matches are in progress .... Get us a leader ( I cannot see one in the team at present ) WITH a bloody big BOOMING VOICE TO ORGANISE EVERYONE on the field , and I am certain and have the faith that we will stay in the Premiership .... I remember some "so - called " supporters giving Vestergaard loads of stick when new to our team ..... describing him as being a slow useless Camel - I believe that if a certain Virgil scored a brilliant header like that - he would be described as being world-class - just like some supporters , wishing the board to get rid of Ralph ...... which I though was ridicules - there was nobody decent available to replace him for a start .... who wants to get rid of him now? Boufal's goal against West Brom was amazing - unfortunately, can any team wait for that spark of brilliance that may come - once a season? Boufal's attitude and inconsistency lead me to lean toward keeping Elyounoussi - Granted we have only seen him shooting wide and giving the ball away on practically every occasion at St Mary's - a different story at Celtic though not only scoring but being a player who changes games! Although I don't wish to knock Ralph's decision making  - but disagree with Ralph when he is convinced that Redmond should play as a creative no.10,... but his best games have been as a rampaging left-winger, even thinking back to the impressive winner he scored for Norwich against us a Carrow Road. I feel that Ralph has yet to discover his best team and how to fit the combination of Elyounoussi and others into a winning combination - let's hope he discovers it soon!

Living through those "dark days" of seeing our beloved Saints being relegated from the Championship - having to go into administration, having points deducted - supporting the team in Div 1 at places like "Bristols memorial ground" then witnessing the tremendous effort that Le Tiss put into trying to put together a consortium to " Save Saints" and when that collapsed - thinking to myself - that's it we are truly finished ..... Agree with everything beynali73 says above. I feel that Ralph is absolutely fantastic about being positive - but being somewhat totally unrealistic ........... HE NEEDS and total re-thinking from the Southampton Owner and his board - at present, the attitude is - to go for bargain basement players - who won't cost a lot - AND HOPE that is enough to keep Saints in the Premiership. To accomplish Ralph's ambitions we need a change of owner or board or preferably BOTH. |
