Thread | What about Harry?

I understand that Harry R is not ideal - but being a short term commitment and living locally May be good for both parties! while we look for a long term manager solution! Now given the state of our players at present , are as such ..... that they definitely need some kind of positive motivation . I can't say that looking at what other managers are available at present , makes me feel that we need to spend time researching the market .Harry as a stop gap makes sense to me - and lets face it , with his vast experience and contacts - he could surprise us all ! |

A good summing up - Burnley blindly carried on with the same system/ideas and went down. Personally I find the tip/tap play the ball sideways , and now play it backwards - bloody boring, to TRY keeping the ball for long periods, to await an opening --- but Martin didn't realised -- HE DOES NOT HAVE THE CLASS OF PLAYERS . to operate that system !!
Whoever takes over has a monumental job to keep us up , although lets be positive and hope for a miracle . |

Surely you must have recognised by now that ALL MAJOR DECISIONS are NOT made by our elected MP's -- But by left wing civil servants , who despise the UK values and our old age citizens.

MAYBE ! But I feel that he is now disillusioned - with his defensive players , that he has in front of him - players who can only concentrate for the first 30 mins TRYING to play the Martin system !! |

Totally agree with saints 22 - Martins choice Subs ?? --- Just shows that he has no idea of footballing knowledge or of his own players , if he did would have put the experience of Lallana on to help run the midfield - instead of Smallbone , would have been a much better choice. |

A very good assessment as usual by 1079. But Russel has got to realise that he has NOT got the quality of players (we do not have the Quality players of say Man City ) , They can only last say 30 mins to work and play and concentrate playing his system, but not for 98 mins - But being " Pig Headed " and keeping his system ,we are doomed to be relegated , surely he has to realise this.. |

All us saints fans - are realistic enough to accept that we will do well to stay up this season,but the way that we have lost our opening 3 premiership games has to be a concern , especially when R.M infactly states that - I WILL NOT CHANGE OUR APPROACH! I had real hopes with the Ramsdale signing , that would galvanise our defence - but fear that with RM's attitude - we will go the same as Burnley who adapted the simular tactics - and got relegated. To my mind Russell really believes that his players will eventually gel and play his system very well ---- the only problem is - he is asking the immpossible , his players have not got the - skills - intellignts - or knowhow .... HOW to play the tip tap , to you - to me then back to the keeper, and is easy for oppodents to press for easy mistakes. |

I do understand that " The away Kit " is all about - another income stream ...... BUT - whoever had the brillient thought of producing a PINK STRIP ????? ..... Must have been pissed ----- or been a fantastic sales team !, must have been on a huge bonus I BUT I Just wonder " How many will be sold " ? ========== Will it make " break even " ! I very much doubt it ...... but fantastic for people who apstalutly love the pink strip - they are bound to pick up a bargin later - when they will have piles to get rid. Our colours are red & white sripes with black shorts ...... Did not anyone think - to put black numbers on the back of pink shirts ? would have made more sence, but why Pink ..... Yuk !! With you on this one bud,one of our better talented players,now will help another team - but if he feels that he is not wanted - would anyone want to stay??? - another unnecessary move , in my opinion ......... let's hope RM .... will mould an exciting team - for all our fans to be proud of , if we have any players left that is ? |

Never been a fan of ZM - It requires certain types of defenders - to all work in unison .... and a great many just get confused, and appear to be saying " what ZONE am I supposed to be defending? Then you see arguments between defenders about WHO was supposed to pick up the oppersitions goalscorer !!!!!! .......... Pat from Poole is spot on .......... with man to man ALL defenders should know what to do , and marry up according to height - and is very simple to operate. |

Let it be true - that Ipswich are interested in the signing of Adam Armstrong..... Let's face it - every time he gets the ball - he endangers of not hitting the back of the net .... but row Z OR the corner flags - how the hell he started on friday night ahead of the others ,is a puzzle - but he did score .......... How unfair ! that was , the slightest touches, trying to get out of the way of Tellas shot's , taking the strike away from him.... basaare !!!!
So small - therefore limited chance of scoring with headers but ...... One area I do applaud in him --- is that he does run a lot ......... but unfortunately , not intelligent runs to distract defenders , to open up space for our other forwards.
Apparently he is valued at £8 mill , half of that would be extremely good business in my opinion.

I appreciate what you're saying ... But Tella is in form and scoring goals for fun NOW ! ...... For only 10 games ,
what harm would it do? ..... just to see ? If you're not sure, bring him on from the bench ! --- yes he could be a flop !!!! But can you see anyone in our existing team , who would be regularly score goals?
We desperately NEED goals NOW
His transfer figure is going up with every game - just suppose he comes back and scores a hatful of goals , in the prem ,would increase his value even further ..... A win - win situation. |

The exact situation with regard to Nathan Tella's loan contract ?
If you had a choice of playing Adam Armstrong ( runs a lot ) , or including a Striker in red hot form Nathan Tella ( Latest another 3 GOALS v Hull ! He alone has scored 17 -- when all of our existing whole team effort amounts to 23 ) .............. Yes I know all about the " Championchip is not Premiership standard ) but strickers strive on confidence -- Would it be any risk of bringing Tella back and include him in our last 10 premiership games ? |

Correct no leadership what so ever - you know what will happen how - a 1-5-4 -1 formation , sit back - and let the foxes shit all over us ... and loose 3-1. I cannot see us being positve, which we should be doing. |
