| Forum Reply | New Year’s Frey delight for resurgent Rangers – Report at 23:40 2 Jan 2025
Bang on the money Clive. With the players at their disposal they should have wiped the floor with our lot. But Dunne and his merry men were having none of it. The desire and passion throughout the team drove us on to a fantastic win. Only one defeat in 10, quite remarkable. We are not going to outplay many teams in this division, but if we maintain this level of commitment, we won’t need to. Have to say though, that Chekvatedze looks some player. Would look better in a hooped shirt…..with the correct spelling on his back 😂 |

Rumours circulating Celar wants out. Can anyone put more meat on the bone? |

Not fit to lace Chairs boots mate. Smyth has done well over recent games, but to claim he is better than Chair, after all he has done for Rangers? Behave. |

Penny definitely dropped with Ashby, played well against Norwich as well. Looked like a boy out of his depth a few weeks ago. Looks confident and full of belief now. Watford have some good players…..but we definitely wanted it more today. Never mind the quality……. |

We have an injury ravaged squad, running on fumes, some coming back from injury and one that doesn’t shave yet, blowing out of his arse…..and you expect that team to push on for a second goal? Get real. |

Had 48% in the first half, assume 40% in the second. Apart from a lack of game nous in the last 15 minutes, that was a really solid effort today. Ashby and Paal excellent. No complaints from me. |

Leave it out mate, when he gets the ball he doesn’t lose it straight away like Saito does. |

If ever there was a time for pragmatism, this is it. We are going to be under the cosh for 90 minutes or until Norwich declare. Not a game for Saito this one. Load the midfield, EDB anyone?, and start with Frey and Chair. This could get ugly. But we are QPR, you just never know. |

Mentality……confidence and belief. Up and down like the proverbial brides nighty. Bizarre. I put it down to a distinct lack of experience and nous, along with the constant shuffling of the team. Will be a rollercoaster ride for the rest of the season |

An injury was all but inevitable. Played every minute of every game. The hope was Morrison could step into his boots alongside Salter and we would have been ok. Morrison looks to have the same inability to stay fit that afflicts Salter. Not good. |

Media trained? In fairness, the players, the manager and the fans admit and recognise it was a very poor performance, especially that first half. Marti continues to allude to mentality, which I think is the biggest issue along with the inability to put our best side out because of the plethora of ongoing injuries. Just as our long term injured return, we lose the two centre backs that have been fundamental to our recent improvements. Luck has not been kind to us this season either, but we have managed to overcome all the issues to claw our way up the table. Just worried we may drop like a stone again now. |

Don’t recall seeing a single pass into Kolli’s feet. Can’t hold it up if no one passes to you. Kolli spent the entire period he was on the pitch chasing 3 defenders around with little or no supporting press. We literally invited Swansea onto to us but did nothing when they arrived. The loss of Cook and Morrison could have a profound effect on performances for the foreseeable future, at least until one of them is back. Fox is not the answer. |

Or our apparent inability to tackle anyone. As Clive would say “it is allowed”. Swansea literally took the piss for 45 minutes and we didn’t lay a glove on them. But we somehow seem capable of doing it in the second half. This seems to be a recurring theme. I would suggest, this is not a strategy we should continue with. |

You need to have the ball before coming up with ideas. Chasing shadows and then giving the ball straight back on the rare occasion we get it. Pathetic. |

Agreed. Great attitude and work rate, but against teams like Preston, and there are quite a few in this league, just gets flattened constantly. Chair can handle the physicality and his balance and control keeps defenders at arm’s length. Far superior player. Put two great crosses in and had a shot blocked from a Smyth cross in the 10 minutes he was on. Also worked really well with Paal down that left hand side. We have missed them both in fairness. |
| Forum Reply | Russell Martin at 22:27 15 Dec 2024
Apparently defenders now have far more touches of the ball than players in any other position. Certainly true of our lot and is prevalent throughout the top two leagues in particular. Football is becoming tedious and the lack of quality is astonishing. Throw in var and the game has gone the way of the country. Downhill with no brakes attached. |
| Forum Reply | QPR v Bristol City match thread at 22:17 15 Dec 2024
Precisely. Anyone who has played the game knows it takes a minimum of 5 games to get match fit and up to speed following a lengthy lay off through injury. To criticise his efforts having just returned is naive and unjustified. |
