 | News Comment | Daily Echo 5 Point Plan For Sports Republic To Restore The Fan Faith at 10:32:29
A lesson here for SR. Do not over complicate or over elaborate. Get the simple and achievable things right and the rest will follow. 1. A new GK or Ramsdale back. 2. A seasoned striker 3. An experienced, no nonsense manager. We may as well get it right this season and as I don't thin we are ready to go up, aim for next season! |
 | News Comment | The Opening Favourites To Replace Will Still Have Been Revealed at 11:45:06
We need a charismatic, no nonsense manager that knows the Championship and English leagues. He needs to get in there and stamp his authority and playing style. No more pandering to the players. Kick out the non conformers, at whatever cost, and I mean even relegation and truly start again. In this way create a tight, loyal and hardworking side who know how to win and if necessary win tough. |
 | News Comment | A Big Decision Week For For Southampton FC at 10:54:44
I never expected promotion this season. However, I did hope for signs of steady progress with a chance of promotion next year with a strong and cohesive squad. I cannot see this at the moment. Yes it is early days, but for whatever reason, Will Still seems to have lost the dressing room. He has to go. |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Bristol City The Verdict at 11:57:08
We need to keep our nerve. This was always going to be a long project and at the moment it is all about confidence. One good win and we will be moving up the table. I cannot see promotion this year but was this the goal. Surely it was stability by the end of the season? |
 | News Comment | Southampton At Bristol City The Preview at 11:28:34
We are making progress. Some people want the team to go up straight away, but like last time this would be a disaster. If you see the project over 2 or 3 seasons, then all we need this season is progress and a mid table finish. I remember watching Bournemouth 50 years ago when they where in the 4th Division. Now look at them. Saints should take inspiration. |
 | News Comment | Danny Rohl Turns Down Rangers And Stirs Up Southampton Rumours at 16:35:06
I would say, 'acceptable' is mid table finish and evidence of progress. We have a long way to go yet this season. If we have made progress, then we can be more ambitious and aim for a top 10 or even top 8 finish. Again, we will know if we are making progress. To go into the Premier League unprepared would be counter productive. We would be taken apart by the likes of Brentford and Palace, never mind the bigger guns like Fulham. |
 | News Comment | Constant Re-Shuffling Is The Cause Of Southampton's Problem's at 16:16:53
Come on everyone. Will Still has the job of rebuilding a team that last season was absolutely rock bottom. We need at least two seasons to be ready for the Premier League. So what is the point of being impatient. We need two or three years to sort things out. Mid table is fine. |
 | News Comment | The 25/26 Season Preview at 21:56:03
I think we will successfully consolidate ourselves as a mid table championship club. |
 | News Comment | Can This Be The Dawning Of A New Era At Southampton FC at 11:16:59
I think we should impose tariff based football. Saints have been exploited and taken advantage of in the past. Liverpool, for example, should have a 5 goal disadvantage against them every time they play us. Man City the same. The likes of Chelski and Arsenal should be 3.5 goals. Other clubs like Norwich should be at the base level of 1 goal disadvantage. P####Y are in the insignificant block so no football tariff for them. |
 | News Comment | Ivan Juric Positioning Himself To Continue In Southampton Job at 12:56:25
Juric is onto a hiding to nothing. With a clear out in the summer and a new championship team with a greater physical presence he might make it work. In which case the first six games are important. Win 5 of these and all will be forgiven. One hell of a gamble mind. |
