We need a charismatic, no nonsense manager that knows the Championship and English leagues.
He needs to get in there and stamp his authority and playing style. No more pandering to the players. Kick out the non conformers, at whatever cost, and I mean even relegation and truly start again. In this way create a tight, loyal and hardworking side who know how to win and if necessary win tough. |

I never expected promotion this season. However, I did hope for signs of steady progress with a chance of promotion next year with a strong and cohesive squad.

We are making progress. Some people want the team to go up straight away, but like last time this would be a disaster.
If you see the project over 2 or 3 seasons, then all we need this season is progress and a mid table finish.
I remember watching Bournemouth 50 years ago when they where in the 4th Division. Now look at them. Saints should take inspiration. |

I would say, 'acceptable' is mid table finish and evidence of progress. We have a long way to go yet this season.
If we have made progress, then we can be more ambitious and aim for a top 10 or even top 8 finish. Again, we will know if we are making progress.
To go into the Premier League unprepared would be counter productive. We would be taken apart by the likes of Brentford and Palace, never mind the bigger guns like Fulham.

We need at least two seasons to be ready for the Premier League. So what is the point of being impatient.

I think we should impose tariff based football.
Saints have been exploited and taken advantage of in the past. Liverpool, for example, should have a 5 goal disadvantage against them every time they play us. Man City the same.
The likes of Chelski and Arsenal should be 3.5 goals.
Other clubs like Norwich should be at the base level of 1 goal disadvantage.
