I give our players a lot of leeway, as I think it takes a bit to adjust to the Championship. But I don’t think it’s ever happening for Madsen. He may look great in MLS or or a Scandinavian league where he can ping the ball around on a one-touch because the midfield is wide up, but in a league where controlling the midfield is vital, he doesn’t get stuck in. No nasty streak. A shame, as he seemed like a real coup when we signed
Otherwise, I do agree that the team selection was a bit weird (No Adamson after playing him all preseason? Mbengue at LB?) but it wasn’t going to be THAT easy to hit the ground running, did you think? Think there are some overreactions.
We really need Dunne back. Part of Morrison’s struggles (he got skinned repeatedly 1-1) was that his RB was nowhere to be found on numerous occasions. Fair play to Morgan for the hit but he needs to be in midfield, probably where Madsen is.

I could be totally wrong, but it almost seems like we made up an excuse and damaged a player’s reputation in the process because a shinier toy came along. The timing of it all gives me that sense.
I'm American, so naturally, I'm keen on American Football, but it comes third for me behind football and basketball. Just way too slow and very violent. There was an Eriksen-esque incident on the field this season that had me wondering why I even bother.
Super Bowl week is the most tedious, over-commercialized week here in the States. Just so completely money and product driven. It's dreadful and actually has me counting down the days for NFL season to end.
Crowds were pretty good last season, weren't they? Especially around December January and February, when we were bringing tons on the road. Coventry comes to mind.
Last season seemed to build the momentum and feelgood a bit and we've built off of that this season.
FWIW, 21/22 average attendance is still higher than 22/23, though that will probably change if we stay on course.
Only caught the second half, which was tedious and a bit on the nerves. Well done QPR for holding on. Fair play to Wigan, played a good game it seemed. But three points... that's all I can ask for!
Got battered a little bit. Hope Stef, Sinclair and Sam are alright.
It was a very long week, starting with an intense match against Luton, endless speculation throughout the early part of the week, and finally a home match in front of a huge crowd. Hope the boys get a couple of days to recharge before taking on Brum.
Thinking pragmatically, it’s a PL job that comes with a big bump in salary. And loyalty goes both ways… Warburton had us in 3rd in February and was sacked by April. No guarantee this opportunity comes again.
At the same time, getting his first head job and departing within three months? Slimy.
I remember thinking in preseason that we were going to need his goals this season and that'd unfortunately, because of our lack of firepower up front, he would have a big role to play.
