Che Adams

Agree with comments on Adams but will give home a break for the moment. What frustrated me more is why Hojbjerg continues to play for us. He was shocking out of position in the first half, but why is he taking opportunities from Smallbone in Centre mid when he has made it clear he wants out??

Whilst I have no axe to grind with Rishi Sunak and frankly a boy made good from Southampton is brilliant, he was pretty much in a no lose situation here. Let’s see how he goes when he has to convince the nation as to how we are going to pay it all back...

Transfer window dilemma
at 22:10 23 Jul 2019

We do indeed but unless we identify the right one, all we are doing is compounding our previous mistakes. The squad size as you mention is ridiculous, frankly I think we should write off most of the transfer value for many of them. If we don’t get rid before the season starts we get the possibility of an entire team of unwanted senior pros undermining the whole campaign.
Nightmare scenario really, I have no doubt the club are having these discussions.

Mario Lemina

I don't fully agree with the consensus on here, although I hope I am wrong over time.
The issue for me is while Lemina looks neat and tidy, I saw no qualities that we haven't already got at the club.
There was no change of pace, no forward intent, no runs ahead of the front three and no attempts at something to really hurt the opposition. While this maybe is not his fault given the player he is, I don't understand why we are not targeting someone with those other qualities.
After two home games last season, Hjoberg was looking the part but went backwards (literally).

Throw the book at them....

Thanks for the link, quite right too. The Premier League not wanting to get involved?? That borders on the insane, I was under the impression that "tapping up" was an offence under FIFA transfer rules, the Premier League have therefore an obligation to investigate.
How on earth do they think the practice will stop if they are unwilling to enforce their own rules.

Throw the book at them....

How can the Premier League not investigate Liverpool on the back of this admission?
How is an apology in any way recompense for destabilising the club, fans and player ?? Would set an unbelievably bad principle...

Strikers for 2017/18
at 13:33 18 May 2017

Makes perfect sense, and great commitment on the stats Stix!
Having the central player in midfield coming a bit deeper also prevents a large hole developing for the opposition to dictate the play. Much as I love Romeu, he has be prominent for diving in and trying to break up play of the opponent when we are on the back foot not so much setting the tempo of the move and the passing. This needs to change next year. VVD or another commanding CB will help massively in this regard.
