...not including the fact we're always pony. 1) our social media and players saying "at the Loft". No, the Loft is the home end. Loftus Road is Loftus Road. 2) Fans who coach the team for 90 mins. I mean, we all shout PUSH UP, GET IT OUT, or LUMP IT 5 or 6 times a game, but giving a coaching perspective on every single move like they are Guardiola, does my head in 3) the military operation of stewards surrounding the pitch at the end of some drab home gane like it's some sort of powder keg about to go off at any minute Big stuff, I know. Wondered if anyone else gets the arse about similarly trivial stuff? |

Nope, unless Mr OG turns up. Which is why I had us scoring zero goals in the run in - and we still stayed up. It means nothing of course, apart from to point out however arse nipping it looks points-wise, the crucial factor is the number of teams between us and third bottom. Makes a huge difference with only 6 games to go. Doesn't mean we will definitely stay up, but the current 22/1 at the bookies to go down looks about right to me. Same bookies have Oxford at 3/1 to go down, which....I don't get. |

Maybe, but do you think it is that or is it that other teams have worked out our Plan A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H and quite possibly I is.....Jimmy Dunne? Was very pleased to see the fake long throw yesterday when Smyth played it short. A change! |

As happens too often on a Sunday morning, went through the calculator thingy and put in just about the worst set of results possible for us and the "best" set of results (for them) for teams at the bottom, the only slightly optimistic thing I did was put in a 0-0 draw against Swansea and of course 0 points in the rest of the games for us. Even doing that, we stayed up on goal difference. There are so many teams between us and third bottom that in reality it gives us another 1/2 points, they can't all pick up points as they play each other. My verdict is that we need 1 more point to make it unlikely we go down. Not impossible, but unlikely. 0 points and there is a chance we go down. So get that bus parked. |

Maybe in Football Manager or FIFA or databaseTM or whatever, it doesn't factor in the human aspect of letting contracts run down. Especially all at the same time. Nourry is an abject idiot, miles out of his depth in both of his roles. Our Board, Amit, Reuben, whoever - yet another genius decision on their long list. I remain convinced they mean well, so reverse the mistake like you did with Ainsworth. Hold him accountable and get rid. |

Absolutely - unless you truly believe getting relegated is the best thing for this club, or going to happen sooner or later anyway, then it has got to the point that it is of little importance how we play or how we pick up those remaining few points we probably need. Just get the job done - bit like Harford in those strange Ruddock / Jones last few matches. I think Marti agrees based on yesterday. Absolutely mustn't lose the game. It was so boring people barely dragged themselves back from the Grand National well into the second half. So pleased to see Morrison and Field back, will help enormously. I'm going to Oxford and I couldn't care less how we go about not losing there, as long as we don't. Park the bus, I say. Send everyone to sleep. We have zero up front anyway. I have a feeling that is what we will try to do... |

High hopes for Hollioake, but we shall see. For the women's game, hard agree. Outrageous Kent didn't get Tier 1 status after all we have done for the women's game. Really hope Edwards can turn around the women's team. Lewis' job was poor, bordering on deluded. Just copied Baz from what I can see with players and even a format that was ill-suited. I really like the women's game but now they are highly paid professionals, they've got to be fit and accountable, which means no more out of shape players and no more endless TikToks and social media mucking around on tour / during competitions. You can't get paid £20k for a Test on the one hand and then just treat it as one big jamboree on the other. From what I hear Charlotte won't stand for any of that. |

Ah, but if we can't dream, Les, what can we do? Forgot to mention a cup run. I'm going law of averages - at some point the Board is going to stumble upon some correct decisions? Wibble. |
 | Forum Reply | Eustace at 11:26 3 Apr 2025
Well, quite, but there's always hope things might actually go right? We stay up, Nourry gets sorted out by the board and they back Marti ahead of him, Spurs buy Eze for £100m, whoever replaces Nourry actually signs some good players, we resign Cook and Dunne, Chair gets fit and firing again, Kolli turns out to be a genius, Morgan has an amazing second season and we fly up the league. Maybe. |

if we lose, it's a 2 point deficit to Cardiff, but there are 6 teams between us and them, so that doesn't mean we will be 2 points above the relegation zone unless they all pick up points. |

I know what you mean, I think it's more the opinions that we have "must win" games when there are still 30 to go or "lose this and we are down", or if / when we lose on Saturday, "that's it, we're doomed". Whereas the sentiment may indeed prove to be true, the fact will remain even if we lose 6-0 Saturday and Wednesday, we still have further (realistic) chances to get out of the mire. Surely the best way to look at it is that we are in a position most of us would have taken if offered it only 5/6 months ago. So it is still a great opportunity to get safe. |

I'm normally a great believer at this stage that you actually need fewer points than you think, but if we lose all our remaining games I am pretty sure we will go down. And we would deserve to, really. The strange thing is looking at the fixtures if we beat Cardiff on Saturday somehow, then they are 8, perhaps 9 points behind us with GD, with 6 games to go for them that include Sheff Utd and Norwich A and WBA at home. Luton are 7 points behind us now, perhaps 8 and if they lost to Leeds at home on Saturday and we won, we would be 10 points ahead of them with GD probably out of sight. So we could be looking pretty much safe on Saturday, but if / when we lose - we are right in amongst it and absolutely have to not lose at Oxford (ho ho). It is quite a swing, Saturday is obviously not a "must win", but it is really important if we want to get back on the beach. The good thing I suppose is that there is still time if the slump continues. We could find ourselves in the bottom 3 by Easter and suddenly the players wake up for some winnable games like Preston and Swansea. Argh, can't believe it has come to this again. |
 | Forum Reply | Anyone on here bought the retro version of the ZX Spectrum with the games includ at 19:57 2 Apr 2025
Loved my spectrum so been really tempted but was sold out over Christmas so I don't have first hand experience yet. I have heard on the various groups that The Spectrum is the one to get - by a mile. I have also heard, however, that we have over romanticised how good these games were and playing them again 40 years later is somewhat....underwhelming. But it's just about the nostalgia, I think. MatchDay II, Football Manager, Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix....aaaahhhhh. |

The free burger / roll the Huddersfield staff handed out as we left the away end when Macca won the FA Cup replay with a header in the last minute from a corner. Lovely gesture, any food tastes good 2 minutes after a cup win. |

I can't remember who it was - maybe Super Ray - who said if you ever get injured past a certain age people think "your legs have gone". He's had a bad foot injury, he needs to get over it, and he will. He is only 33, nothing these days. Good luck finding as good a replacement next year for those that want him gone. |

Brilliant post - couldn't agree more. And the fact is with Cook (and Field) when the chips are down, a long way up North - such as at Burnley this season...he's the one you can totally rely on to be giving it everything. Having seen so many flaky centre halves over the years, my personal opinion is that he has been one of our more reliable, top drawer centre backs I have seen in many years. |
 | Forum Reply | Charlie Kelman’s Leyton Orient at 14:57 1 Apr 2025
Absolutely, always said we would miss Cook hugely if he wasn't there. And we do desperately, notwithstanding his worse form with his injury. And Field is a vital cog, total unsung hero. Never understand it when his value is questioned. |

Surely concluding that Celar "clearly can score goals" is a bit like deciding Karl Henry "can score 20 yarders" based on one result in a lot of games? I hope you are right, but...one swallow does not make a summer. |
