League cup draw live from Thailand on facepaint
at 13:43 16 Jun 2017

I watched on Facebook. Oxford came out as home, but the caption replaced them with Charlton, who had already been drawn. I'm sure MK Dons were drawn away at Forest Green, but the caption shows them home to Yeovil and Forest Green away to Wolves!
Very amateurish attempt. The presentation was cringe inducing.

Could we have won the 1970 World Cup
at 16:36 5 Jun 2014

Banks missed the West Germany game due to food poisoning, not injury. It is suspected that he was nobbled by a Brazil supporting chef, but never proven. We lost that match largely due to Bobby Charlton being substituted in the second half. He had Beckenbauer in his pocket up to then. Had he stayed on the pitch it is unlikely that Beckenbauer would have ventured forward to a shooting position, as he did to score their first goal.

It may be just my age (boomer), but I just don't see any comedy value in Jack Whitehall or Russell Brand. Where's the humour in their acts?

20 minute Wembley video covering the walk and the game.
at 20:52 26 May 2014

I accidentally clicked on the 'report abuse' icon at the bottom ( the exclamation mark,) tried to amend it but no luck. Please ignore any report you get from youtube in this regard. Super video, watched it right through, thought I recognised a Northampton based Ranger who I see knocking around the town with his Rangers shirt on.

Fulham's relegation the key to England's WC success (non-QPR)
at 20:32 26 May 2014

Fulham were not relegated in 1966, it was Northampton and Blackburn.

You could just as easily say that the hosts won the World Cup in 1966, which is the much more likely scenario this year.

1982 FA Cup final and replay - were you there? Help needed
at 17:54 20 May 2014

Getting a tickets for the 82 final was not going to be easy for me. I moved from London in 1977, up to Yorkshire and left behind my Rangers season ticket, as keeping it on was just not viable. I managed to visit LR on my visits back to see parents, and of course attended away games oop north. I recall that a ballot was held for tickets but I was unsuccessful and resigned myself to the distinct possibility that I would miss the match. A Sheffield United supporting neighbour suggested that I approach the Blades and ask if any tickets could be obtained from them. I rang up but no luck, same at Wednesday and Rotherham. I then remembered that I had visited Barnsley Supporters Club on business a few months before, so hot footed it up there in the hope that I might just find someone who would sell me their ticket, if one existed. I stood at the bar and asked the steward if anyone had a spare ticket, whereupon the guy standing next to me turned around and said 'you can have mine-I'm the club groundsman and I don't want to go to an all-London final'. He only wanted the face value, which was £16. I asked if I could possibly get another two and he told me he would ask around and to come back the next day. I returned the following morning and he produced three tickets; his and two belonging to Barnsley players, one of whom was Ronnie Glavin. I stuck 48 quid in his hand and left with three passports to Wembley heaven. So myself, twin brother and Wembley-dwelling mate got to see the match. We felt rather weird, bedecked in Rangers' colours whilst sitting amongst the Yorkshire contingent in the stands. The atmosphere wasn't quite what it was on the terraces with the Rangers fans. Sadly I couldn't make it down to the replay but watched the game on telly in Sheffield, proudly wearing my red Wembley match shirt.

Great names.
at 20:32 9 Nov 2013

At the college where I work, previous students names include: Beta Dick; Wayne Keown (what were his parents thinking, poor lad) and a Filipino woman named Mrs Watcheraporn. I can just imagine her husband sitting in a waiting room, in walks an assistant who calls "is there a Watcheraporn here?' and all the men put their hands up!:-) :-)

Austin's penalty must be the first R's goal scored from outside the six yard box for some time!

Dirty Leeds

Only been there once, in 1977 when Peter Eastoe scored the only goal. Very few R's there, a group of Leeds lads infiltrated us and started pushing a lad with learning difficulties around I flashed my work ID at them, which looked like a warrant card and they scattered. When the real police arrived I pointed out a few of the yobs and they got nicked.

Anyone got a spare £400?!
at 14:38 13 Mar 2013

I own a replica Rangers Wembley 1982 shirt, bought from Phil Parkes' shop in The Bush the day before the final. Short sleeve, medium (can't believe it fitted me!).
Very Good condition. (I don't want £400 for it) ;

Players who are QPR fans?
at 10:02 10 May 2012

Steve Perryman was a fan in his early teens.

R's fan Sam Parkin scored against us for Northampton in a 2-2 draw at Sixfields some years ago. He looked elated at the time! (I imagine it's like playing your mate at tennis, you try to win, but when he plays someone else you want him to win). This is also the match where I regard was the best goal I've seen Rangers concede in 40 years of following the R's. Scored by Derek Asamoah, similar goal to Maradona's (legitimate) against England in '86.

derry appeal thrown out
at 18:02 10 Apr 2012

'Fair play' initiatives promoted and endorsed by the FA deserve the cynicism they attract after decisions like this. The FA had the opportunity to show to the watching football world that they really do mean it when the espouse 'Fair Play'.
Where's the fairnes when an offside player deliberately cons the ref by crashing to the ground after a minimum contact, thus depriving a FELOW PROFESSIONAL of plying his trade. Why does not European Employment law have a say in this? Restraint of Trade anyone?

(Does Clarke Carlisle as the PFA Representative have an opinion on this? If so, let's hear it Clarke.)

i've had enough of the big clubs getting all the breaks, I predicted there would be a controversial decision agains Rangers on Sunday. After the debacle at Chelsea the day before when (little) Wigan were cheated by inept officials I am rapidly feeling that the Premier League can get stuffed. Or reduce itself to seven or eight clubs, because that's all there is who can have a realistic chance at winning it.

I remember that several years ago, a QPR fan appeared on the show-I think he ran a fanzine at the time. The letters QPR appeared in that programme too (surely by accident!!). I also recall him asking for a consonant, Carol produced 'Y' and he said 'because i asked for one'. LOL
