Avoidable goals stat
at 11:12 23 Sep 2024

The best and fastest way to stop the tippy tappy stuff is to introduce a new points system in all league competitions.

Group stages in World Cups etc would become so much more interesting too.

0 points for a loss
1 Point for a draw
2 Points for a win by one goal
3 Points for a win by two goals
4 points for a win by three goals and so on...

A system like this would ensure teams go out for goals, thus creating a more attacking environment for teams.
No more playing for draw it might not be enough if your challenger gets more goals and points. No more hanging onto to a win - see above.

Goals win games yes but more goals means more points and bigger rewards.

You can always screenshot your Season Card info and just open your photos on matchday if you cannot get a signal. I do this with my Morrisons More card as it is forever asking me to log in 1

I agree, to fund a Squad Builder will hopefully mean a better team = better results = better attendances = better revenue.

There won't be a need for an emergency fund if the former works.

Fans may also think twice about causing a disturbance if its going to hit their league position. Fines don't hurt fans, just the club.

Christmas Draw Tickets
at 15:56 19 Dec 2023

It looks like the biggest effect we can have on the clubs finances right now, not in a couple of weeks or months is the Christmas Draw.

The club shop has no scarves or shirts, BJ has no players and to some there is no future.

Well lets make a difference, it might be a small one but hey we might sell 30,000 draw tickets!

We know we are skint so lets put a few quid into the club coffers and get some Christmas Draw tickets.

Every little helps!

Colchester United could be one to watch for dropping into the relegation battle. They are on a terrible run right now.

Possibly but I was just gauging supporters thoughts. I am sure the club would welcome any cash injection that benefits the club.

As a fan owned club I wondered if we could start a fan owned fund-raising campaign?

Maybe to help recruit players in January or for the day-to-day running of the club. Could be an annual Christmas campaign in the future run by the Trust. Personally I would put a few quid in just wondered what everyone else thinks?

The Tale of Horton Mouse
at 10:44 24 Mar 2022

Now Horton is no ordinary mouse,
You see, he doesn’t really care what he takes from your house,
He’s not happy with scraps or bits of old cheese,
He'll take everything you own and leave you on your knees.

He sneaks into your life through dark vulnerable places,
Hides in the shadows behind well known faces,
And then when he has his feet under your table,
He takes even more than you are financially able.

He doesn’t care about you or your house,
He's Horton, the scheming bald-headed mouse.
So watch out because he bites the hand that feeds
He has to, somehow, quench that insatiable greed.

He’s dresses well and loves beautiful cars
Bought with money he hasn’t saved up in old jars
He’ll look for cash in every department
then grab himself some swanky apartment

Then when Horton’s belly is swollen
He take off with the things he’s acquired and stolen,
Go on the lookout for pastures new,
There’s plenty more gullible persons to screw.

But sometimes in life you meet more than your match
and things don’t go right for the plans that you hatch
You bump into a group of ‘nancy boys’
Who don’t come quietly, they make lots of noise.

They discover the facts and out the truth
They don’t want Horton under their roof.
There’s no scraps here or bits of old cheese,
So be on your way with your group of fleas.

This is Rochdale, we are The Dale.
This is our club and it’s not for sale!
So little mouse and the other three
Take note, we are, and always will be Pest-Free!
