 | News Comment | QPR continue to slide as Saints set off on new march – Report at 09:38:47
I think the tempo points are excellent. My frustration watching the game is the number of times we string some passes together or beat a man, or beat the press, then play it back and we’re then treated to 8 or 9 sideways passes while the opposition resets. It’s not a plea to lump it forward, more to just keep the ball moving forward and put some pressure on teams. I was at the game with a Southampton supporting mate and I think they were there for the taking - the last 10 minutes effectively showed that this was a team with a very rickety defence. I’m also not convinced that playing Chair as one of our forwards is working - Kone and Burrell for me, with Chair possibly playing left. He’s gone back to his old habit of slowing the game down. |

For all that it sounded a bit tame, it does feel that at least the club were well prepared and had anticipated the likely topics to be raised by getting the right people to talk to the questions. |

Really enjoyed this, and find the negativity strange. It may be new to us in terms of having someone analyse it and break it down, but this has been going on for years. Teams with ‘lesser’ players will always try to negate the other team’s advantage, so the better teams will come up with approaches to overcome this. The chess analogy above is fair. You will still accommodate flair players to make th difference. |

I see myself as a bit of a stalker on this site, but it’s articles like these that make my Patreon contribution seem like money well spent. Without articles such as this, and journalists such as Dave Mc, and opinions such as DaveB, I’d be completely in the dark. I confess to still being completely confused - I liked Warburton, I generally liked the style of football pre-collapse, but on the other hand realise that the disconnect with the direction of the club was never going to work. That said, I would love to understand the targets that Warburton was set if he was expected to work within the constraints we’re talking about. Using players like Kakay, Masterson etc and. Expecting a top six finish seem incompatible to me at the moment |
 | News Comment | Six for one declared, Chelsea annihilate sorry QPR — report at 09:36:51
Just surprised that I'm so surprised by this. For years, opposition teams have treated us as bit like a pilgrimmage to Lourdes. John Jensen goal drought? Ah, I see we've got QPR coming up. Swindon unable to get a win in their 1st ever season in top flight? Rangers up next. Torres struggling for goals? etc. I'm sure others can add to this. Let;s be honest, we do abject surrender pretty well at times |
