January transfer rumours
at 17:35 9 Jan 2026

Didn't know Cracknell was an R?

Varane's on the phone and he wants to go home

I'd let him for 5mil plus add ons.

Then we move on to getting one or two more people in who can pass the ball forward without losing their minds

Okay, but I thought it was more along the lines of:
Buy someone for 5 mil on 5 year contract.
Each year reduce the asset value by 1.

So, if you sold in final year of contract for 2.5 you book a 1.5 profit to that year's P&L?

Actually that's what you said.
I'm tired.

As far as I know Richards was very little up front ~450k with a number of add ons?

But, yes, a big sale does need to happen.
Someone needs to start attaching one of those electric collars to Varane and triggering it every time he fails to pass forwards.

This is a very good post.

I really try hard not to care about amortisation, but could we sell a number of players as long as they add up to ~6 mil, or it depends on who because of profit Vs asset cost.

I'm trying not to go overboard.

Someone compare him to Steven Caulker for me

West Ham tickets

If anyone can't make it, was supposed to get my little brother and my brother in law a ticket, but I was in Japan at the time and couldn't do it, and my usual crew all assumed it would be on sale for a while so didn't bother...

Kolli

The lad has a knack of getting goals.

I don't know why he hasn't played more, but it seems to be an ongoing thing under two managers now, one of whom clearly was not entirely following the clubs/players wishes given the response to him from players when he returned, so perhaps it's not the club being off, but the kid as well?

I don't know either way.

Just look forward to him getting more minutes and hopefully staying fit. It seems like he's been out of training for the past month.

Really liked the second celebration, can see a genuine connection between him and Morgan.

Looks like Kolli has also filled out a lot?

FA Cup Draw Monday Evening
at 21:55 8 Dec 2025

Nice new team to get eased out of the cup to.
Always good to watch a mid ranking premier League defender absolutely dominate our hapless strikers.
Or have a top level one come on to really show how big a gap there is ( Vidic ages back coming on vs Dexter Black stock, was like dads Vs kids match, Guehi a year or two ago similar vibes)
but this year I'm interested to see Burrell and Kone ruffle a few feathers.

My boss supports Wham and has already been messaging me about it.

Think I'll try and go to this, but not holding out hopes I'll have enough loyalty points.

That Mbengue tackle
at 10:18 21 Sep 2025

I mean, it was a pretty nailed on red card I thought at the time, and even more so having seen the replay.

Doesn't matter if you get the ball and follow through like he did, completely off the ground and planting studs on the guy.

But, Ben Pearson?
Drop ball and gate.

Pearson then gets so wound up he immediately gives away a yellow. Good stuff.

Ref was a lottery. Very inconsistent I thought.

Good bit where Kone committed some violence against some guy, the ref saw it and waved play on, then a few seconds later they lost the ball and Kone seemingly doesn't even get a talking to. Enjoyed it.

QPR sponsorship curse strikes again

Erm, still heavily advertising this company during today's matches.

We have contracted advertising with them that they have to pay for or something?

At least one kit manufacturer as well?

I've always thought they should do limited editions for the local pubs. 500 each with the name of the pub on the sleeve.

Probably unwise on a number of levels, but I'd show my support

Wait, I don't think we use them for any services?

They're not a Point of Sale provider as far as I know.

They offer electronic money accounts, so, basically a bank but more like a digital pre paid card.

You top up your wallet and then you can make payments from a digital card they issue.

Looks like they might have either breached some safeguarding rules (keep your money separate from their business accounts) or run into liquidity issues (run out of money).

Sorry for the boring post. I work in payments though. Opened a guavapay account so I could get a digital QPR card... Never used it though because the app wasn't very slick...

Guava Pay forced to cease continuing any transactions by the FCA (I think, that's not confirmed by them, but reading between the lines.)

They were our sleeve sponsor last year. Not sure if they still are?

Julien Stéphan talks dreams, transfers, and that Coventry game – Interview
at 09:45 11 Sep 2025

Yeah, agreed on that answer - he comes across well, and I honestly think that saying "it was my decision" is him taking ownership of what happened, even if it wasn't actually his decision.
Think that speaks very well of him as a person and leader in my opinion.

Also, very impressed with how much his English has come on, to come across that well in your second language is incredibly difficult, but you can hear that he's a charismatic person and can build connections with players.

Overall, very impressed, and thank you Clive for getting this interview.

What's going on?

It doesn't look like they've done too much aerobic work? So they've not done enough?

Unless I'm mistaken I don't remember this from last season, but they were definitely all absolutely knackered after 45 minutes two seasons ago.

Is this by design? I don't recall seeing other teams do this, and it's mostly empirical evidence but I don't think this is stopping muscle injuries?

This talk of another year for Frey seems odd as well given we're doing all this other business.
Unless it's to spread out his wages over a couple of years instead of one, and he just absolutely loves being around the place?
Would be mad, but then he is mad.

Know very little about Kone, but he looks very good on the YouTube video I just watched.
Far too good for League One anyway.

I guess that's why there were bids from much higher up?
And seemingly some work permit issues from way back.

But, yeah, seems to be both footed, quick, strong and good in the air...

He doesn't sound like an Oakland A...

It's in our DNA.

Mark Hately.
Taylor Richards injured himself during a medical for Birmingham - passed ours and is often injured.
Charlie Austin, I believe, failed a medical at I think Hull, before we signed him. Obviously this one turned out well.

I know for a fact that we've signed players with knee injuries who then didn't actually go on to play for us.

Not entirely sure we're worse than other clubs - perhaps it's in the risk profile to try and sign players who're a bit more injury prone but are 'better' - but I don't really pay much attention to other clubs.

Anyway, based off the one YouTube 'highlights' compilation, this Ba lad is useless.
