It seems that most supporters' perception is that Conrad Logan is definitely signing for RAFC. As much as we all would love him to sign, I think that his historic salary at Leicester and therefore his expectations, may well be beyond our capabilities. I hope I am wrong.
I've also heard that Stephen Dawson's salary expectations may be a problem for him to agree a new deal. Again, I hope we can secure his signature but finances may be an issue. |

I would expect loans to be utilised should Edwards not be fit for the start of the season.
A third permanent goalkeeper is far from a priority at present when taking a look at the current make up of players under full time contracts. |

I'm a huge fan of CD. He was superb for Rochdale and has continued to improve following his departure; however, I cannot see that any player who, at present, cannot get into the matchday squad for his respective club will be included in this 'experimental squad'. |

Oli Johnson was signed by Oxford on Friday.
I expect that now Coleman has been appointed, with financial support from the board, some new faces will be brought in before the window closes at the end of the month.
Totally disagree with Grimes starting. Very Poor attitude and no work rate. Not exactly the recipe for success in a relegation battle!

We're down I'm afraid.
In the previous two seasons 50 points has been sufficient to ensure survival in L1. To achieve the 50 point mark, assuming that will be enough this season, we require 30 points from the 21 remaining games.
Too much to do with this group of players in my opinion. |

Following Hill's resignation over 50 applications were received in the subsequent two days.
Ultimately, with hindsight, Steve Eyre's appointment was a dissaster; however I can see why the board went for him, a young enthusiastic manager who's footballing principles were attractive to a prospective employer and the appointment may have been perceived to be similar to Hill, four and a half years before.
Eyre had to be sacked. His recruitment was appalling and his tactics were not affective. Unfortunately, unlike in the summer, the quantum and quality of applications now has seriously reduced. From Beech's four games in charge, it's apparent that he is not the man for the job, although I have sympathy with the unsettled mishmash of short term loans and players contracted for 6 mths that he has inherited.
We now have a derth of quality applicants for the post and a caretaker who has proved to be unable to get the best out of this group of players.
I don't know what Dunphy et al should do, but expect us to be back in league two next August. It's imperative that the next appointment is the right man to get us organised and build momentum again, as all the good work that Hill did has now been undone, ultimately by a poor decision when replacing him.
It took us so long to get out of the bottom division. It's going to be a great shame that it's only taken two years to get back there. |
