West hams ground....
at 15:04 12 Jan 2026

We drank at St Pancras and did the high speed out there, which worked really well I was quite pleased with myself for coming up with that. Train only takes 6 minutes and because we walked through the west ham security and walked around it sounds like we missed a lot of the OTT security measures nearer the away end coming from Stratford.

Afterwards... complete fcking pain in the ars. Walked out of the ground at 17.10. Train at 17.49. Oh, we'll easily make that says I. No chance. Missed it by a street. Every fcking bridge, every fcking walkway, another barrier, another steward, another funnel, another crush, another queue. It took us an hour to go from the away end to getting onto a train.

I would genuinely stop going if QPR played at a place like that. Echo the thoughts from above, treasure what we have. Walk out the Crown at 14.40, into my seat in time for the teams coming out 15 mins later.

Kone scored. Again. He's doing fantastically for the levels he's stepped up at his age. West Ham played a back three against him yesterday that has cost them £90m.

Kolli, there was a moment in the second half running towards us where we played a long ball up to him, two defenders on him, and he brought it out of the air immaculately, turned one of the markers and beat the other, accelerated away into space in front of where we were standing. That was proper.

Desperate to see him get fit and play the next three months while Burrell is out. Then we can start making judgement calls. But he's got something.

Couple of bits - when we came out of lockdown this was absolutely rampant. I remember one of the Peterborough away games was absolute chaos, but it's calmed down a lot recently.

The dogs... I couldn't possibly comment but I'm told you get paid very handsomely as a private third party company for providing those dogs to events. Whether they can actually do what's advertised on the collar, and it's not just Joe Dog Owner rolling up with Rover for a nice side gig on the weekend who's to say...

Extra Time/Player Welfare
at 12:17 12 Jan 2026

Nice to have you on here mate, we still chuckle about the Lyndon Dykes hat trick bets.

If you were cynical you could say it's another thing done for the benefit of the Premier League sides. Bigger, fitter squads, which will tell in extra time.

Saw it with Spurs last year, Tamworth held them for 90, and the they just stuck Madison and a couple of others on for extra time and won after all.

West Ham at ours in front of a full house would have been a great replay for us, and for the broadcasters.

Noone gives a sht about player welfare. They occasionally pretend they are if they think it can get them what they want (i.e. less pesky games against the likes of us, more mid-season tours of Dubai) but they don't care really.

I'd accept a pre-season friendly if they're offering to host.

If I had to go there every other week I'd stop going.

I did say earlier in the pod they didn’t look a good side to me despite the wins, but I do think they’ll have enough to stay up. Oxford going for the guy who took Luton down since then as well.

Isn't it a Fifa thing? (The computer game, not the corrupt organisation)

One thing that I do like about this, and I know I mentioned in the piece about it being a good sign he wanted to come back having been here before, is that I do like having QPR fans involved. Whether he is himself it sounds like most of the family is. That was a big part of what Ian Holloway built first time around, getting people here who care about the club and want it to succeed and want to be here because it's QPR.

If you could have picked two players to get injured in that Sheff Wed game, Burrell and Varane are basically the nightmare scenario for this.

Even more annoying is the ones who say it's all ticket and none available on the day, then you get there and there's a cash window - looking at you Swansea.
