It's been done to death. The only thing that matters from now until the end of the season is what happens on the pitch.

Dale to appeal Donnelly decision
at 23:54 23 Sep 2013

I'm not sure that this is conclusive.

Despite the fact that his feet have both left the ground, at the time of impact, one of his feet is planted on the floor so it's hardly a two footed lunge is it?

I think it's also important to determine where the contact was actually made on Hunt (I thought it was his face at the time judging by his reaction). Does Donnelly really make contact with his leg? It looks more like his foot in the pictures you've posted and if that is the case, it wouldn't seem that the lunge was as 'over the top' as it first seems.

It's also questionable whether he was a 'clear' second to the ball. You have to remember that this happened over a course of a few seconds and this has to be taken into account. At the time of the incident, I don't remember thinking he didn't have a right to go for the ball and from the angle that a lot of the Dale fans will have seen it from, you must have eagle eyes to have thought it was the correct decision at the time on the first glance.

Agree with the OP completely.

I thought Tutte was the best player on the pitch tonight for large parts of the game.

Rafferty got caught out of position again too many times for me tonight and he looks the weak link in the team IMO.

Vincenti looks set to be a player that divides opinion. Fantastic in the air and has unquestionable work-rate but he's too casual with the ball for me and his crossing was quite horrendous at times tonight.

Personally think playing Hogan up front tonight was a wrong move. Didn't have the same freedom to run at players and looked to struggle with his back to goal against two beastly centre halves. Made some good runs though and got done a few times by some very poor decisions by the linesman.

Referee was horrendous tonight also. Made some absolutely baffling decisions tonight, coupled with that, 'I hope the cameras are on me' cheesey grin that everybody loves.

Lillis made some absolutely fantastic saves and I still maintain he's one of the best shot-stoppers I've seen at Rochdale in a long time.

Lund looks a quality player and the perfect replacement for JK.

Done looked pretty good but seems to lack the same confidence he had here the first time around in terms of trying to beat a man. WIll do well for us.

Looked solid for the most part defensively and I have faith that Eastham and Lancashire will turn into a good partnership. Thought O'Connell did OK too considering he was played a little out of position.

Donnelly was Donnelly tonight. Chased down every ball and had the extra strength that Hogan seemed to lack when going toe to toe with circus freak Rob Jones. He's a must starter up top for me if we're to do well this season.

Hery was fairly decent but his first touch seemed to let him down a few times tonight. Seems strong and skilful and will be a useful impact player at the very least.

Thought we played well tonight, especially second half and didn't deserve to lose over the 90 minutes. If we play like that in the league then we won't have any problems achieving what we all want to achieve.

Sandy is full of mongs. Stupid comments (if said in jest) are mostly fine in my opinion.

It's the people who shout shyte and fully believe the drivel that's coming out of their mouths.

Some of the older section at the back of Sandy act like spoilt brats at times. I've never seen so much excitement over the offering of a hard boiled sweet.

Abuse isn't a problem either as long as it's justified/not too excessive. If a player cries off then it's their problem and they're probably in the wrong job.

He didn't carry on running though, he rifled it in.

That goal was no-one's fault.

Yep.

This 'Grimes sees things others don't' is a load of bollocks.

He plays well when he wants to. He wasn't arsed tonight for the large majority of the game. Probably thinking about playing at that nice new stadium t'over t'hills.

Bollocks.

You're begging the opposition to shoot from there 100% of the time. Absolutely nothing you can do about that.

We were poor tonight but didn't deserve to lose.

We were poor and they were poor. Accy didn't deserve to win anymore than we did tbf and a couple of moments of brilliance won the game for them. Not trying to gloss over how inept we were but it was also clear to see why they're at the bottom (and why we will there be soon).

No brown sauce at the food outlet! Wtf am I supposed to put on my pie? I try to enjoy my pie because it's often more pleasurable than the football on show.

If we can't get things off the field right then how do we expect to get it right on the field?

As for the game it had 0-0 written all over it barring two moments of brilliance. They were no better than us and it would have probably been a fair result. We were poor but we didn't deserve to lose.

No no I said he passed my way before the accident, I didn't mean to trip him up but he's been enjoying like as a cauliflower. Not like it's much different, he used to sh*t himself on demand anyway..
