Saints At FC Midtjyland The Preview
at 16:40:44

Well this is what all of last year was about, to get us to Europe and of course ideally to the group stage. I know there are many fans who think this is just a distraction but for me this is what Saints need to be aiming for every year, as this is the pinnacle tournament a team like ours can be involved in [unless we become like Chelsea, City or Utd]. So due to last weeks result / away goal, tonight I believe we are the under dogs and need to meet the challenge, that is going to define our season [unless we win a domestic trophy], COYRS!

Saints V FC Midtjylland The Preview
at 15:09:55

I feel we should revert to last season ball control line up, 2 DM {Wanyama & Romeu], with Davis being the link and playing Mane & Tadic wide with Pelle in the middle, I also agree have Long for 60 min impact to add pace when, if we keep the ball & them chasing, they will get tired legs. I would play Caulker in place of Yoshida but would play Yoshida at LB, as this team is tall and Yoshida has good ability against taller defenders, than Target. Either way we need to play to our strength and not have long balls a feature of the tie, COYRS!!

How Internet Rumours Once Again Caused Panic To Saints Supporters
at 13:49:51

I do not mind people making expression on their concerns about constant news items but, we need to remember we are a selling club, last 2 years no exception but maybe the price / profit we have got in the past 2 years has been better [Cork being the exception], that said if we want to make top 10 and try and win a trophy, we need to have good replacements for any departure, which to be honest we have struggled a little so far this year and I still hope that the management team have the right plan to make this happen before the window closes. I will be there tonight, COYRS!!!

Norwich Looking To Hijack Koulibaly Deal
at 07:32:40

Again just paper talk and I hope Saints have a strategy / plan to get the best players in whoever that will be in the end, as we all know [subject to Caulker yet to prove himself], we need at least 1 top class hungry CB..

Legod7 is spot on, so saintsnutcase you want to have a good season and win nothing [no cup runs, they damage league form], and don't come higher than eighth, or you will need to do European competitions, so you would have said that if we were in place of ManU tonight in the CL qualifier!!!!, when at one stage last season there was a small chance we might make 4th....

Why Isn't Thursday Night Sold Out ?

This should come as no surprise, look at the [plastic] fans departure on Sat when the 3rd goal went in, I thought I can't of heard the fire alarm, and this is something unfortunately we have seen, as we dropped own the leagues in the past or when we are on a suposedly ban run, to be honest we have about 15K real fans and the rest go with the wind

Saints Close To Completing Napoli Deal !
at 14:29:42

The plus point for Koulibaly, is that he can play CB, RB & DM, therefore this is a strength which with the injuries, suspensions [already picking up to many yellow cards] and limited quality available, would help our multiple aims this year [win a trophy, Europe and top 10 in the league] but to be honest I want the best CB we can buy, as, this is very key for us, so if that is Virgil [not sure it is], then let's get him!

Saints Need Injection Of Pace At Back
at 10:27:27

Let's be clear the back 4 would be a very reserve 4 in relation to last season [Target & Yoshida] for Bertrand & Toby, whilst Cederic is bedding in and Fonte is not yet at the level of last season, therefore once we have Bertrand back and another CB of prem class [Caulker maybe], then we will be tighter and also I believe until then we need to play 2 DM, Wanyama and Romeu, as the latter looked very promising from his 2nd half showing

Forget Saturday Now For The Europa League
at 10:11:25

For me this season is about looking to maintain good league position [not as high as last season due to continuos departures] but to win a trophy which would define the season and memories in the minds of saints fans, ideally in the Europe League, COYRS!!!

Saints V Ipswich The Verdict
at 12:29:54

Of course people are always disappointed if you concede with 8 mins of normal time to play but as mentioned above, the 3 points at Leeds was very fortunate & a point against a team on a great run, is still progress to our goal of promotion. We need to concentrate on the fact, we are on an unbeaten run, we still have the promotion [top 2] in our hands, as with our goal difference Reading would still be below us even if they win there game in hand. I felt that we played significantly better than against Leeds, therefore this is the positive & just need to focus on the next game & 3 points. Guly should have scored & to be honest most likely Lallana but the latter for me had a good game. I expect Chappers & Cork in the starting line up on Sat, as NA keeps his rotation for the 2 games a week schedule. All in all this has been a great season & we should just get right behind the team COYRS

Saints At Leeds The Verdict
at 10:15:04

To be honest I was not surprised by the way Leeds played, Warnock has made noises all week that this was the point his players had to play for the shirt & more likely a contract for the future. The new manager syndrome [not happen often to Saints], was also evident with their commitment & of course if Leeds had played like this all season, Grayson would still be there & they would be in the mix for promotion. Kelivn as mentioned was nearly flawless & to the credit of all the team they throw their bodies at every shot incoming. Yes the team did not settle & even with the great team goal, we did not build on this position. I felt that I agree I would have gone with Sharp & Guly for Lee & Puncheon, so yes the odd balance in midfield did materialise. All in all a great result for Saints, this is the way teams win / get promoted & I have very really seen Saints be second best but win when it mattered so much, COYRS

The Far East Slant - Enter The Dragon
at 11:29:46

I believe true competition [not just many strikers] brings out the best in players, therefore Chun maybe just what we required, 3 viable real strikers along with Ricky & Billy. Therefore even light flashes of finishing, like against Derby, means Billy needs to raise his game & not like Doncaster, which was if fit you will play. On the matter of who picks the players, you are right it has somewhat been hit & miss but I guess when you make so many recruitments in a short space of time, some will flatter to deceive but on the whole I believe some of the signings have been great additions.

Continuity Is The Key
at 07:46:24

I think we all agree playing our best 11 [those in form] & in the their right position is the only way to be real promotion hopefuls. I believe the last 4 games have been promising [excluding the FA Cup], therefore we need to make 3 points on Sat at home & make the Hammers feel the pressure to get points from their games in hand, also to keep the distance from those looking to get into the automatic promotion positions, COYRS

More Of The Same Needed In East London
at 11:21:05

I totally agree you need to play players in their right position & only do square pigs in round holes when there is no other choice. I expect Bart to be back but based on Hammonds performance as sub on Sat, I am not sure Chappers will get the nod. I believe we should play the exact 11 as that that started on Sat if there is no injures. I feel that if we can play like we did on Sat, then we have a great chance to get a result on Tuesday & if we do, then this could be the start of a run of winning results, building confidence each game COYRS

Saints V Burnley The Verdict
at 12:26:55

Just the result we needed, 3 points, clean sheet & everyone looking better on the ball than in recent months. I thought Guly played the best I have seen him in a while & Richardson was more like we have come to known him by. The early signs for the striking partnership with Ricky / Sharp looked good, which can only get better & with some competition for places, I felt Connolly came on & also played better then when he has started [maybe that us the key with him]. I know Chapers was properly disappointed not to get on the bench & as mentioned above Puncheon was unlucky not to start. All in all the best way to meet a great 6 pointer at the Hammers, COYRS

Saints V Burnley The Preview
at 12:07:01

I feel this game for 90 min run is to early for Chappers, unless he has improved significantly from Tuesday, he will need time. Reeves should have a place on the bench & for sure Sharp should have his debut with Ricky. I believe Fox should return & there is noise that square head [Jos] will return but again based on the defensive partnership of Fonte & Martin, I am not sure that this is much of a gamble even with his lack of first team action. What is vital that all supporters just sing their hearts out all match regardless of how we start, we need to do our bit to provide the atmosphere / confidence to the team, they surely need it! Time To Stop The Rot
at 11:02:57

I keep hearing this is the same team but so many people forget, this was on the back of a promotion at the start of the season & anyone who knows football, understands confidence is the difference between the same team playing well or not. As you have stated & so many recently, we have not had this for the last 12 games & thats the reality. So yes we might be the 2nd team not to make promotion but if I listen to many people we are already conditioning ourselves for failure, COYRS

Saints V Millwall The Verdict
at 16:05:43

Yes the performance in the main was not acceptable, again as I have mentioned before if Saints do not play their best players, we are at best a mid table CCC side. Now it is time to start to support the team & not desert them! At the back we have never for a long time been good, we would score more / attack was the best form of defence, keep the other team pinned back or keep possession. In recent games we have not been playing well & this enables the opposition to gain better opportunities to test our average back line. I definitely know that if at the start of the season you told me we where 2nd with a 2 point advantage I would have taken your hand off, so if we do not start believing in the team & they don't get their confidence, then we may completely loose are way & end up not even in the play offs come the end of the season, COYRS

Saints V Millwall The Preview
at 15:34:47

I agree playing the team in the players true position, so to give balance with both experience & young talent is the key & based on NA already stating this is playing second to the league. I also agree that Connolly has been off the boil but you cannot fault his commitment. I would like to see Guly play, as before he was injured he was not at his best either, therefore he needs a good run to gain his confidence. Let's hope Chapers gets through the game, whatever the real mins with no bad reaction, COYRS
